Flerbert
Similarly, are the random color box drop mags from mines and such able to be changed to level 0 as an alternative source for them as well as a way to get non-red ones normally?
Malcoren
From @teh2chao2's chatbox post; A system for adding Hit to weapons apart from DTs would be huge. I know some people (myself included) gripe about Hit being a necessity once you start playing on ultimate, what if we had a system that allowed you to increase hit on weapons up to 30%? My initial thought would be using PDs as the currency, but there could be something else like how the New years event worked. Limiting it to 30% seems reasonable since you'd want at least that amount to feel usable in ultimate, and still provides the PTW path of getting to 80% with DTs (and the typical random chance of good stats). An argument could be made to just adjust the Ultimate monsters down so that Hit% isn't a necessity, but that doesn't seem as fun, and an avenue for new players to be able to add hit to any weapon they find would be great. It would also act as another form of progression in the game to work towards which could help with player retention. It would of course have a negative impact on the economy since any weapons with only 30 or below hit would become devalued, but from my experience not that many people are buying those items anyway. (at least not the regular rares, event items are more frequently purchased). A possible alternative to using Pds for the currency would be multiple copies of the same weapon. The system could be similar to how monster weapons add hit, where it has a lower chance of success as you get more hit% on the weapon. Give up a copy of a weapon you want to add hit to and you have a chance to successfully add hit to the weapon, that could help bring up the price of those weapons if they are constantly being sacrificed to add hit instead of taking up vault space. I have been trying to think of ways that the trade economy could be simulated and I think this could help, but maybe that doesn't matter if we don't have a super active player base anyway. The method for adding hit mentioned above would be relatively busted with quests like BPDD, but since its only 30% that you could reach I don't think it would be that unbalanced. At worst it would become a method for people to farm 30% hit Yas weapons. Thoughts?
teh2chao2
While inspired by a clarifying question I had, I don't hate the idea. Especially the idea of only a certain amount being obtainable by anyone, but the full amount being obtained by showing support and donating to the server. I could also see it benefiting newer players by giving them a chance to survive in Ultimate and simultaneously weakening the emphasis outsiders put on Ultima's stigma of being pay to win. Elaborating on what @Malcoren suggested, I think adding in a system/quest to add hit percentage to any weapon à la Claire's Deal 5 could be a reasonable form of access to this concept. It could also incentivize people to build on any weapons they find with 2 good attributes but a lacking hit percentage instead of just trashing them or selling them immediately. Additionally, acquiring the DTs for 50% hit instead of 80% may have the result of seeming less daunting and encouraging players to start seeing DTs more as a commonality than an expensive rarity. R-78
I did work on Gallon's shop in 2021 to allow hit addition via Photon spheres, but it requires server side code changes (and more security checks to prevent cheating) and @Larva never got back to me when I asked.
teh2chao2
That's a shame. There's still potential behind this idea though. But until then I guess we're holding out on a concept until anything comes of it.
bloodseeker
Instead of happy hours, could we have increased drop rate to some randomly selected IDs for 24 hours? That will encourage players to join those with those IDs. It also avoids the problem that HH happens during work hours or sleep time for us at the opposite time zones. bloodseeker
Instead of having Dark weapons just for shot and sword, could we have Dark weapons for other types like machine guns, sniper, dagger, ...?

It's easy to have 10 characters with all the IDs and then just transfer your gear to whoever has the daily ID. Not sure how that would help. 3 hours ago, bloodseeker said: Instead of having Dark weapons just for shot and sword, could we have Dark weapons for other types like machine guns, sniper, dagger, ...? Regarding how PGF already causes many player burnouts, and how you already need at least 4 of them to make all the Dark weapons, No. I'd really rather not add even more combinations to it.

Ofc that's obviously never gonna happen Or even better: Imagine we could dash at monsters just like the Ill Gills do to us
