Sorry, yes they do use photon crystals. pc drop on almost any rare mob in normal, so run ma4dmd on normal 2 for 3 times and you should have about 10, esp with rares on. Kroe's Sweater 2374-1900 = 474TP (20% of current) Mother Garb+ 2374-2137 = 237TP (10% of current) Mother Garb+ reduced the cost of spirit by -50% Adept (Kroe's) 2374-2018 = 356TP (15% of current) Adept reduced cost of spirit by -25% Adept + MotherGarb 2374-2196 = 178TP (7.5% of current) Adept and Mother Garb together reduced spirit cost by -62.5% (1 - (.5 x .75)) TP reductions do affect spirit exactly as it does for techniques. They can be useful to get some extra attacks out. They are just delaying the inevitable though, the need to steal back tp through geist or use a fluid. Newmans can stay low tp and use their passive regen to regain just enough TP to keep using spirit repeatedly, though they will be obviously too low to use pretty much any technique, as you still need the full unaltered base cost (not the reduced cost) of a technique to be allowed to use it (becomes greyed out if less tp). With 2000 TP No reducers, you get 23 spirits (16 until lv30resta disabled). Adept only, you get 31spirits (22 until lv30resta disabled). MG+, you get 47 spirits (34 until lv30resta disabled). Too lazy to do mg+ and adept together. I got 5 crystals on one normal run, thank you. That quest is indeed mad, but fun. I spend my 5 crystals, ran Black Paler Deal 5 times in a row, only got Meseta each and every time. Is this the norm or is my luck really rotten? Because If I ignore the gear people have given me so far, I'd be stuck with a LV 126 RAmarl trying to poke things with a JUSTY-23ST. It's not worth much at all. Sword of Ultima is a pretty bad weapon, it only has 15 base ata, so even with 50hit it's not worth much, maybe 30-40pds at best with that it, and that's really pushing it (as a weapon it's honestly just not even worth it, every other option outclasses it by a wide margin). I mean that still doesn't make it that great, but at least more useful. I mean I was kind of excited when I found one, just neat to have, never really had any plans for actually using it, but regardless, I wanted one. However since then I have been thinking, the sword that has been chosen to bear the name of ultima... sucks, what does that say about the server? Of course I don't think the server sucks but if this is to be the sword of ultima, bestowed with the name of the server we all play on, kind of silly that it's useless if you think about it. I can understand not wanting to modify weapons that are already out currently because economy issues can arise, but honestly, in this case would it really hurt?
