  1. Man... You were clear as to what you wanted Nessly, Lee and I weren't as to our explanations of why you don't have to worry... Or you didn't read our posts attentively enough. I tried to retrieve the post where I made a similar request and where Choko came in to explain where I was wrong, but I can't find it back. And yes, i seems the way you're measuring the boosts is wrong. So I'll try to be clear, this time: Rafoie no boost at all : 1000 dmg Rafoie boost from being a FOnewm (+30%) : 1000+1000*30/100=1300 Now... Rafoie boost from being a fonewm (+30%) PLUS having Rafoie Merge equipped (+30%) : _NOT the 1300 from before + 1300*30/100=1690 (which would be compounded %, and where the second 30% boost, since it applies to the bigger number1300 and not 1000, gives 390 instead of simply giving 300) _BUT RATHER 1000 (base rafoie damage) + 1000*30/100 (from being a FOnewm so +300) + 1000 (yes, again we tke the base dmg, not the result from before)*30/100=1600 (which is the stacked % applied in PSO) So we have 1000+300+300, and not 1000+300+390 (which is the caes in day Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria, where you can play on compounded % to deal crazy damage.. but not here) I hope I was clear enough this time.Listen to your elders, boy. XD Edit: In case you would still be skeptical, calculate the applied 30% just from looking at the numbers of that result. You'll see less than 30% but that's because.... oh you took the total, not the base.
  2. Larva, we had already saw this problem. I thought a bit like Nessly and made a post but Choko explained how it worked. A 30% incease will look like a 22,96% increase for a fonewm without iggy but things are fine. The percentagles are additionally compounded, not exponential, that's the explanation.
  3. lolwut! A force is to do these things anyway, and like Zynetic says : no buts, no ifs. XD He, Sunny and others made a few guides and posted them on here, they're not here for dogs. While not absolutely correct or applicable in every case, the clues ponted out in these guides should still be able to give you "one idea or two" about how to play. now there is everyone's style, further adaptations, but still. So now forces sell "themselves" (sounds like a kind of whoring activity to me, wen put like that lol) to do somethign that is their job anyway, just as the jib of hunters is to tank of rangers' tomake the enemies less dangerous too. How did it all come to this?... I guess most people do apply the steps "1) make a fo; 2) equip a mind mag and learn some techs; 3) go pawn stuff!" and forces are are simply clueless. But before that, a sympathetic community should be about... idk... helping each other out with no ulterior or economical motive. So... Yeah, I'm getting on my high horse here, but I'm surprised that now a force will sell oneself for a few PDs per run. Here the opportunity arises because forces do't do that and so rangers and hunters are left with wanting forces who would do that. So you're offering... . .. ... Oh well, sorry for the crap reply and forget I said anything.

  5. Just to make clear : the Rafoie Merge, just as any single tech merge, boosts Rafoie by 30%. The accumulation with another 30% bonus may give you this 23% impression, but that is because the bonuses are additioned, meaning that they do not compound exponentially, but it's really 30%, just like Red Merge boosts it by 20%, etc. http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=1158

  7. Is it possible to obtain a Red Odoshi Domaru here? I don't find it on the drop charts. Also, we would need drop tables for BPD1&2, because there are tables that say it is to be found in BPD2, while others say it isn't, but they are not Ultima's tables.
  8. lol Pin what will max stats do for this? As long as you have decent manoeuvering and precise timing, and Jellen anyway, you're fine. Plus I don't think the stats are varied for this armor. Also, simple mother garb is almost as good. Oh yeah, the other forces now, I forgot. XD
  9. If it were 5/114/81/0 I would buy it 30 PDs. Serioudly though. Level 100 mags just turned into their mag celled form are nice since the buyer can customize them.

You don't have to bother too much since hte community is very friendly and forgiving here for hte most part, nor do you have to listen to the common stereotypes regarding forces and which can occasionally be proven wrong.   14. So I come back on this thread after a while, wanting to give my piece of mind after also checking the recent posts. I also want to take some criticism from other people into account. First, regarding the previous posts and in my opinion: Elric is right; CANNON ROUGE (which should be ortographed CANON ROUGE) is overpowered, and so are rangers already anyway. They usually kill everything very fast. More power is only pleasurable to those intoxicated by it but will make the game boring, especialy for the other players accompanying said overpowered players. It can already be the case at times; let's not exacerbate this problem. Sylph is also right and DARK METEOR should be made weaker for the same reason I stated above. Come on Lee, have some humour, Chuk is right with his Clown's hat idea. CLOWN HAT Type: shield Stats: DFP+1, EVP+1 Special effect: makes the wearer say a random Carambar joke every 50 steps Drop: Normal Pinkal Hildeblue (it replaces this Resist/Flame) OK so now onto what I wanted to say: I) Ideas that should please everyone 1) A list at Paganini's item exchange shop. Getting items from him is tedious and I heard Starfly once tell me that it took him one hour to obtain a RED BARRIER with just 20 PDs. If there were a list, this would have taken only a few seconds. This is one of the random elements of PSO that brings no fun at all. Only exasperation and waste of time. Imagine what it would be if we also had that after completing Challenge Mode to choose our S-rank weapon! Instead, make him say: "Then choose your item from the following list:". Then the prices in PDs for every item would be shown, with all those that can't be afforded with one's current amount of PDs appearing in grey. 2) Monomates, Monofluids, Trimates, Trifluids, Sol Atomizers, Moon Atomizers always appearing in the shop. This way we can feed mags wtihout having to log on with a character that we would have taken the trouble to create just for magfeedingand, we wouldn't waste time piping Sols and Stars. I understand that these two ideas are part of PSO though, and I'm willing to admit that they have their point, making the game more difficult and it's items longer to get. But still... This makes me think that I would like to make an opinion poll maybe. But no, that would be just democracy. And I'm more of a dictator than that. Ha ha ha. 3) Luck materials dropping just like the others, randomly after killing a monster or destroying a crate. Luck is the second most important stat to deal damage after ATA if I'm not mistaken, especially on a character with high base ATP, and it takes an absurd amount of time on this server to get all the materials that we need to really max our LCK. The FOnewm need 33 of them to max comfotably. Just calculate the time it would take to gather all of those now! It's much more convenient to have them dropping regularly so we can max our characters in just a few months, which is already a lot, so preferably less). 4) Now I won't be hearing that "we need a more stable ship first", or so I hope... A common bank showing as a second receptionist so that even newcomers who don't know that they have to type "/bank" to access it get access to it. 5) A casino! A casino would be a fun and nice way to obtain some items! It's not my idea but it should be pleasant and entertaining to get certain prizes this way. If we had a casino here on Ultima, the attraction would be much stronger and people would log on and have a fancy place to find themselves in. The decorations would be like those of Las Vegas. XD And there would be regular casino games as well as a price list with fancy units and shileds like HONEYCOMB REFLECTOR, Heavenly/Resist, PD, PC, Addslot and why not items that are otherwise almost unobtainable like Raikiri and Izmaela. Just it would be very difficult and long to obtain them this way of course 6) No Trap/Search and State/Maintenance units after all, I was thinking about this since they make it much more convenient but they break a part of the cooperative aspect of the game. The force cures those who are not immune; the droids clear the way of traps... It all sounds well to me. I was tempted at first hahaha, but in the end, no. 7) Several pages of news on the News page so we would be able to read the older ones. 8) A thumbnail on the forum entitled "Server changes", to make a section dedicated to having everyone informed and up-to-date about what has been edited from the original game, with the date of the change noted right next to every change. 9) Mags can be fed in the lobby. 10) A "/magtimer 4" command that makes you hear the sound of a stomach gurgling. XD Lee will remind that this one is not feasable. 11) An extended Guild Carg list. 12) A functional Trade window. 13) I thought about better drops in Challenge Mode to make it more fun and less tedious. I'm not too sure. The game is originally like that, I hear, and still seems to be feasable. Even strong players find it annoying and tedious though, and would consequently be having more fun if high attributes and hit weapons dropped more frequently. Also, it would make people play it more, and newcomers as well as weak players would be less shyed away from it. II) Ideas that should please the players but annoy the admins 1) Monster's EVP back to the normal rates. This idea of making Challenge Mode less difficult led me to think about its rewards: the S-rank weapons. They can't have hit, yet on this server the EVP of the monsters have been raised, thus making S-rank weapons less useful, and therefore making the Challenge Mode more ingrateful in addition to being already very difficult. I can see why it has been raised, and like another player told me: "The higher the EVP of the monsters, the more we miss. The more we miss, the more we need hit. The more we need hit, the more we donate for hit on our weapons." So yeah lol... Newcomers and weak players would have a more friendly time had the monsters the EVP they were meant to have by Sega. 2) GLIDE DIVINE and PSYCHO WAND back to their original 1/205 rates. And well, all of the Sand Rappy and Dell Rappy drops back to normal, since they seem to be a lot lower than they originally were, maybe in consequence of this decision about GLIDE DIVINE, thus effecting all the rest, I don't know. And that instead of the fo boosts that we've had and that I wish to see cancelled, sorry. Both ideas of the staff to make GLIDE DIVINE RARE and to implement those fo boosts made donations much more likely. Mines, which are the opposite ones, conversely make donations much less likely. So I could perfectly well understand the reticence of the staff regarding those ones too. [Twisted smile on the definitive trollface] Seriously though, I can remember the time when I was a weak force and all the hours that I spent hunting GLIDE DIVINE, and later the PSYCHO WAND in a party. I ended up finding GLIDE DIVINDE alrigth, but it took me so much time for what is merely a defensive and supportive weapon, yet defensive and supportive items in PSO are cheap. It really is nice when you are beginner as a force to get your TP bar refilled every 10 minutes, to be more resistant, and to be able to debuff at a distance, thus being useful for your party. And my account is not hte only one. Several players seem to be so very annoyed by the rarity of this weapon... "I've been searching during al the Happy Hours time and nothing"; I remember a room named "fuck u glidedivine", "glide divine=never drop"; "I had to hunt during weeks to finally find it". GLIDE DIVINE is a basic weapon for a force, and is much more indispensable to a force than those who boost offensive techniques. As for the PSYCHO WAND, I can already hear that since we have more rare monsters here, this is not too much of a problem. But allos me to doubt it. As it is, getting this weapon without donating can be hideous. 3) Yes. Cancel me those fo boosts. Not everyone will agree, I know. Even, indeed, certain players, if not most players. I want to say what I think about this. This is not a trolling session by the way, but when I read: "to help them a little", well... I got to think that this actually helps the rich, lucky and powerful ones only; those who are already at ease with the game. Meaning that it doesn't help the force that need to be helped at all, unlike stopping making GLIDE DIVINE so rare. Those fo boosts help donations. I'll discuss each of them in detail: _Mother Garb+ equipable by the FOnewm only instead of every force character. FOmars and FOmarls usually melee and say that nuking is not worth it since it's weaker than meleeing for their classes. The extra energy is more of a luxury for them. But now, there is the case of the FOnewearl... Aura Field, Lieutenant Mantle, Sweetheart, Crimson Coat and the elemental cloaks (Congeal, Ignition aka iggy and Tempest) are there. Fonewearls consume a lot of TPs, but I think that this armor was given to the FOnewm only because he has significantly less TPs although he needs to nuke as well, does not have Vivienne to refill them, and has the weakest Grants among all the forces (The FOmar has a 30% boost, the FOmarl a 50% boost and the FOnewearl more MST). So this armor is part of the chance of the FOnewm to be competitive and interesting as well. _THREE SEALS Razonde+30% instead of Rafoie+25%, Rabarta+25% and Razonde+25%. This one will be difficult to discuss but here we go. When I saw Link doing a tiny little bit more damage than me due to his having a RAZONDE MERGE against my THREE SEALS I was like "shiiiit" no lol this is anecdotical and I'm just kidding around a bit. Three colours, three RA techs... Is it pertinent to make it a deluxe RAZONDE MERGE only? Who knows... But in the original game it really was just Razonde+30%, as I was fortunately made able to check on A CERTAIN other server that was fresh and new. Sega decided this. And indeed Razonde seems to be left aside among the RA techs, sinde Gizonde is so tempting to use all the time instead, overshadowing Razonde in more than one occasion. I want to respect Sega's original decision about this, and I withdraw my initial complaint. Rafoie and Rabarta are not so weak originaly. Powerful enough, shall I say. Nuking should have its limits anyway, as well as breaking the original balance among the class of techniques. People were already overusing the RA techs on this server. Now it' even more of a no-brainer to choose. Leading me to the other two changes. _PSYCHO WAND+30% instead of +45%. Please trust me on this: the PSYCHO WAND was already powerful enough as it was. I've been playing for a long time as a nuker and unlike what I heard a player say, no, the speed of bare-handed males does not equal out with a +30% bonus. I checked that while looking at times when completing a mission. So this bonus really is worth it already. Also, if RA techs get 15% more, why not giving 15% to the GI and SI techs as wel. Or wait, 20 to GI techs and 25% to SI techs maybe. Er... No, leave the default values. The difficulty is good. Some peole will say "but i love to spam rafoie" etc. but this is just for more power, which is really unneeded I dare say. Plus will we also make MAGICAL PIECE GI techs+45%, and SUMMIT MOON+45%?... How about Further modifying the balance. Nay, let this as it is. I mean get it back as it was! _PROPHETS OF MOTAV+20% instead of +25%. lolwut III) Ideas that will annoy pros xD (yet that they may like o.o) 1) The ANTI-HEALING RING always available in the armor shop for 1 meseta. Only mates can cure the wearer, not Resta which will heal only 0 or won't work at all. I'm not one to know how to program that. "Wait I can still annoy them (the hunters wanting to have fun with the special of the DARK FLOW of course) with Star Atomizers [Trollface]" The same will go for Star Atomizers too. This way I would read no more "NO RESTA!"; "why do you think i waited inthe poison room?! df+low HP=????"; "No me dejaras usar mi df eh?"; "siempre mi curabas, menudo aguafiestas", "thank you for not restaing like a noob" (this pro is satisfied but i don't like this "like a noob"); "are you healing me on purpose?" (when I wasn't preventing him from having fun on purpose); "crap I healed you so sorry"; etcetera, etcetera, etcetera 2) Replace every phrase in which "dmc" appears with a random Carambar joke from God-knows-which database. ;*D))) Sorry, couldn't resist about this one. 3) Replace every phrase in which the player wrote "SD", but not "please" with "I'm gay". So childish but I like the idea and it came to my mind. haha xD IV) Ideas that weak players will not like 1) Well along with the removal of the fo boosts which I already mentioned, combo-locking DARK METEOR like other players already said. Rangers are already destructive enough and when they have that, they make the game boring, especially for others who see mobs faling like flies even before they have a chance to even just tag them. If I could enforce this, I would. People will flee from the server. Too bad for them. It's my opinion. I don't care if you're offended. Peace. 2) Dark Bridge to its original value with no Zalure boost and Grants +20% not 40. This one is not too important I would say. But I'm mentioning it. So that's it.   18. Hmm maybe there's another person around the corner who's capable of making items too, thus benefiting from independant credit as well. OK so back to my idea. The staff would be for personal security as well as tanking purpuse, as its stats imply. Weapon type: Rod Special: Deband 22 with 18 meters range (default+ 2 regular boosts of 100% each) Boost: TP Regen (1 TP every 4 seconds, stacked ontop of other TP regenerations of course) Drops: _VH Crater Satellite Lezard 1/150, Purplenum _H Temple Belra 1/317, Viridia _VH Barbarous Wolf 1/263, Pinkal _VH Caves Poison Lily, 1/263 Whithill Name: PILGRIM STAFF I wanted to conceive a rather modest weapon for new forces who still dont have say their GLIDE DIVINE and still want to be useful along with being safer as well as having more TP to cast their techs, while not being stronger offensively, just more solid for a change from the other weapons and not to make an uber demolishing weapon that would overkill the mobs. How about it?
  19. Yeah that's a bit excessive gmstone XD. But there are nice ideas all over the place here. It's a cool topic where we could put interesting creative suggestions indeed. Hmmm so... say a thin indigo rod with one green serpent enlaced around it, and with a small ball on top of it prolonging the rond, indigo as well... No wings since those already exist with the PSO Caduceus and Mercurius Rod, and another weapon with wings would be one too many, maybe. Ok now I know that such a weapon would be hard to make. Much, much harder than a simple color swapping hahaha. Now as for the effects, er... I don't know lol there are already many useful effects with the weapons of this game, enough I would say. But that's just an aesthetic idea. ^^ OK I try: ATP +220 ATA+35 DFP+200 HP+300 Resistances+20 Special: I don't know, there are so many pertinent boosts already, but I'll think about one. For now I have to go! XD
  20. Because I like 25% on my RA techs more than 30% attribute on any of my weapons. That way of saying no was merely for entertainment purpose. ^^
