Getting PSOBB On Mac

Recommended Posts

I don't know if this is exactly related, but I am sure it regards some of the same subjects. I downloaded the game and got it all set up in Wineskin, and I even created a character. The problem lies in connecting. A few seconds after the connection screen appears with the movable star and the expanding light beams, the game crashes. It gives me an error file which I will copy below. I know this isn't common practice to fix, but if it can be done I would highly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0xb5d70007 in 32-bit code (0x433978aa).

Well... i think i can safely say we can't help you with that here lol... you might want to take it to the forums of said program... i was actually researching a bit and found a few games crashing too and i bet the list is bigger than what i found so yeah, i think it will be hard to get it running.

The only thing I can find while scouring the forums is this: http://www.phantasystaronline.net/forum/index.php/topic/6844-psobb-mac-port-in-progress/

I hope it may help, but I think you may just need to run a virtual machine. And considering that would have a lower resolution with PSO already having a small resolution, you may have some difficulties... Whatever, good luck to you sir!

Seriously consider the possibility of running dual boot with a WinXP or Win 7 partition on your machine or just on a separate other hard drive all together, MAC OS is just not for gaming, period, Win OS emulation is clunky at best in the Mac OS as you have experienced already. It will certainly take some headache out of your predicament IMHO. Good luck!
