Hello, my name is Tim and I just found out that PSO:BB is even a game, despite being 23 years old now lol. I played the Phantasy Star Universe demo/trial thing on the xbox 360 for a long time and really enjoyed that, was disappointed to see it get shut down. Met some new people and they introduced me to PSO:BB and private servers of it, so then I found this one and now here I am! Already met Shadi in game, know him from somewhere else, nice to know someone already in an unfamiliar place. Also met a helpful stranger named Colossus who did T.T.F for me and gave me quite a few nice shiny things haha. Made a RaCast named "Big" without the quotes, because I was feeling exceptionally lazy with the name lol, hope to see some friendly faces in game!

I don`t think the problem is within this function itself. It`s probably failing because the dest buffer is too small to hold the data that is being put into it. This could theoretically happen if a super long run was decompressed prior to copying the next character from src to dest (I`m referring to the line that causes the exception). Now, of course, this shouldn`t happen assuming the src buffer is properly encoded so it probably isn`t properly encoded. If you haven`t done so already, I would just put a little piece of protective code in this function to prevent it from overflowing the dest buffer. Working backwards (in soda`s original server code), it looks like the size of the dest buffer is ultimately (ultima-tely (lol)) defined by TCP_BUFFER_SIZE which should be 65530 bytes by default which means the function knows it should never write more than TCP_BUFFER_SIZE bytes to the dest buffer. When it tries to do this, you could save a dump of the entire src buffer somewhere for later inspection. You should be able to apply the same reasoning to every method in the call stack until the problem is found and then you could remove the protective code afterwards if you choose to do so. By the way exceptions would be REALLY nice here but unfortunately C doesn`t support exceptions. I`m not really familiar with the context for this code but if it`s trying to decompress a chunk of data that comes from the game client, the server shouldn`t expect it to be encoded properly. Unscrupulous individuals could theoretically hand-craft such a malicious piece of data to crash the server. Anyways, putting in some protective code should help you to at least prevent the program from crashing even if you have to close a socket or something to keep it alive.That`s my 2 cents!

Tp materials exist, best ways to farm is doing forest offensive in ultimate (being the team leader) and doing the secret room or playing the roulette in gallon's shop, but I think you need lucky tickets for that (do phantasmal world 3 quest for some, i'm not sure if other phantasmal world quests give the same reward). For luck mat, you can hunt it on ep2 normal mode greenhill, select retrieval > Lost SHOCK GUNGNIR, do the first 2 rooms and redo, you only need the la dimenians (it's boring to farm this xD)- For power mat do forest offensive in normal mode with a greenhill. For hp mat do warth of forest on bluefull or oran in normal mode. For mind material warth of forest on normal with the rest of the ids that don't get hp mats there. If you just want to "get a general amount of random mats" I usually did warth of forest in vh/ultimate just the start or path to salvation normal/hard. Would get some materials sometimes.

You can convert to epsiguard, you need to use a stink shield and I think you need to use on an android for it to work (not sure on this part)

PoD is the fastest way to an ep 4 boss by far (Shambertin or rare spawn Kondrieu), a fast run can be as short as 10-15 minutes. Government 9-8 is the fastest way to get to Saint Milion (still has chance of Kondrieu), the regular ep 4 boss, it's a 30-40+ minute quest. Regular sub desert is highly unadvised, it can take you more than 1hr+ to reach the boss (Saint Milion or Kondrieu). Currently Saint Milion drops the Blood Sword for summer event, a powerful spirit saber for forces. Pinkal id is the only confirmed id so far. He may drop the Soul Booster to make 100 souls on some other id, nothing confirmed yet. If you wish to get one of these, I recommend you complete the government quests up to 9-8 on normal to unlock for all difficulties, which should only take about 2 or so hours, regular sub-desert is not worth running. If you just want Kondrieu and don't care about the blood sword / soul booster do PoD.
