vampirewolfy
Name: WolfyAge: 18Preferred contact method: Through these forums for people I don't know too much Hobbies: Video games, Anime, Manga, socialising via networkingPicture: Hehe. Maybe another time.A little more about your self: Hello~! My name is Wolfy, as written above I've always been a console gamer since I was very young, and will always be. I'm just a person who generally enjoys video games and doesn't care what console its's on. I've recently upgraded my PC, and I'm happy about this because I can finally play with friends I haven't before, and games I couldn't run before. I have not played much MMORPG's though, the only one I have really played is Monster Hunter. I've heard about Phantasy Star Online when I had a gamecube, but never knew it was online play. I also never had a decent computer to run games until now. I was really happy to see that there were servers still running for this beautiful game. A shout out to the person running the servers, thank you! I'm very new to this series, this is my first PHO game. So far I have been enjoying this game and I'm looking forward to PHO2 to be released in the USA later (hopefully soon!) By the way, is there a way to manually rotate the camera other than fixing it to swing behind you? Also, any tips for this noob? I'm not new to RPG's, only FSO. Thanks for reading! I look forward to crossing paths with other players

chuk
Welcome to ultima ^^ As for the camera rotating, in game there is no real feature for that but some people developed a trainer that lets you move the camera freely. But it's more to take snapshots as it is not as swift as the normal controls.
Redstar Hunter
hunter tip: if you start off as a hunter try getting swords and partisans and do wrath of forest and when you are strong enough do path of salvation for good exp and items. Ranger tip: If you Start off as a ranger use a shotgun type weapon for multiple range shots and do the wrath of forest till level 7 or 8 then do The TTF quest under VR for good exp. Force tip: Well i don't really use forces but here a kinda useful tip, try getting high level gifoie and rabarta techs and do the wrath of forest quest till 14 and then do path of salvation for exp item tip: try collecting techs and selling them for pds for a starter type player. This was learning with Red Star have a nice time in ultima! and get along with everyone! if you see a hacker please tell your local GM asap or
vampirewolfy
>Thanks to everyone who welcomed me so far! >Oh well, I'm used to fixed camera angels from games like Legend of Zelda and Super Mario anyways. >I don't ever beg, I really like to feel the satasfacation if earning my own items >I'm level 23 at the moment, I've been playing with a friend 2 manning quests since we started togeather. >I'm REALLY shy, it's hard for me to talk to people >_< But I guess that's the only way to make parties huh? Unless it's okay for me to join random pre-made quests.

vampirewolfy
I actually made a hard server the other day and people spoiled me already -w- I'm aware you have to reaise a certain stat before equipting the weapons. I forget exactly what it was called, but does it come from leveling up or defeating enemies?
Grimoire Greys
Increase in stats comes from levelling and use of materials [mags help too.] When it comes to weapons , different types rely on different stats. Swords and other melee type weapons require a certain ATP or attack stat. Guns need ATA or accuracy and the Force type weapons usually depend on MST or magic stat. If they're high enough then you can use the weapons. Armor and shields are always dependent on level. Be aware that there are also things that can only be equipped to specific gender and class. Impressive Grimoire Greys. you remember my teachings after all. but you forgot to mention that. there are also weapon that do not require any stats to use them, maybe only some requirements on gender and class. vampirewolfy
@Grimoire Greys, thank you! This is some very useful information. Weapons not requireing any statas to use them is a bit more obvious but I'm going to assume those are the most commonly dropped items, therefore are the least wanted.
