Personally, as far as equipment to use on my Hucasey, I go with the combination of Sue's Coat and RR. It really makes her powerful, not quite at HUcast levels but the next best thing. You definitely want a Red Ring though. You mentioned one of your friends is Whitill, so there you go. White drops RR from Falz, so run some Ult TTF until it drops. It's not too hard to find one either. Sue's Coat is an event drop, but it's not that hard to find during so. You could buy it too, as it's not that expensive to buy. Until you get Sue's, Electro Frame is a nice substitute.

In max stat plans, you always want to go for the plans that minimize the amount of slot items needed. That way you can use other beneficial units that don't necessarily affect stats directly but are still very useful (i.e. Centurion/Battle, Wizard/Resist, v502, etc.). If you're worried about not being able to get your hands on a Red Ring, don't worry too much. When you are able to hold your own in Ultimate TTF, bring in a Whitill as host and they drop fairly often, especially with HH on. The resistances of Red Ring make it worth using anyway.

I mean, you guys could always manage a leaderboard on the forums if you really want this to happen. Have people post screenshots with their times and the members in their party upon completion, and just manage it in a big forum post that the GMs could sticky in the general psobb discussion.

No, I agree with you and I do not have any issues with people bragging (should have seen me when I found all of those PoSTs during Easter). Let me put it this way: it's the Internet and people take offense to the stupidest things. Keeping this server at a more casual level is probably more beneficial than not.

I'm just saying: you're going to feed so many hungry egos with an idea like this. Leaderboards, while not necessarily a bad idea because they encourage competition amongst players, are really nothing more than laying down stakes for bragging rights. The luck of the hunts is enough already. Think about it, how many people on this server, when they find a really good drop, will return to the lobby and immediately start bragging about it? What if one of those people had an excuse to brag in the long term? Again, not a bad idea, but think of the negatives to this sort of thing as well.

Also worth mentioning is that if you decide to do PTS for your runs, stop the run after the room you teleport to behind the waterfall. The Merlan counts drop considerably after that room.
