I think time is the key here. It's takes players who have the equips with current costs(they did not get there gear recently) well over 500 dollars or a full years worth of play for events and luck a lot less time than the average joe to farm items in general. These players who I have zero problem with set the bar and can solo any drop with ease , other players need groups or a large investment into game to get near there success rate. For a game over ten years old to have that much money pumped into it , it could at least reward players with the same chance as soloing in a group because the gap is just so big at the minute. "Hey guys let's hunt for item X you get 1st drop then me and then you and lastly you" this could take these guys in current play if they aren't geared to top level way longer then if a top gear player soloed x4 drops, let these guys play together with there own chance but together ? I see the older players saying they don't care as much about items and it's more of a social thing but they are the ones fighting this idea the hardest and also it's a opt in system so if they want classic it's still gonna be there and if people abuse the system in organised group hunting then they will lower the market themselves for items but items with added stats will hold value the same so no one will loose any of there investment into game. I can't see a reason other than change is bad for us not at least to try this in the downtime between summer and triforce as to not cause any issues if any arise although the obvious is the organised team farming of valuable items

Can you do a hud where the top part of the action buttons(opens chat) is hidden? I've been using the pso2 one by echelon for ages and could do with a fresh new looking hud, there is another hud that does this can't remember author but it dosnt scale well into hd and all the rest have that top part showing : / looking forward to see what you come up with : ) only kamui has done something like this recently and his turned out really well (horror mod for ep 1)

It's a combiner item. You use it on Excalibur to make the server custom item hundred souls , basically a slightly more powerful excalibur that use spirit instead of berserk which is great on a lot of characters : )

This thread is becoming a joke , where on one side we have the people my self included saying hey this game could be improved to encourage new players and people to play together with there own fair chance of getting items on the other side we have people who just don't understand that a game over ten years old could be improved for the better but because it dosnt fit there play style/concept of pso then it's just a bad greedy selfish idea. Not every player on this server is a member of a well geared highly active team , some may not want to join but with the way this ideas being handled ultima will continue to not hold onto new players long term as I've noticed in my time here as most hit the wall where they can't get what they want from the game anymore

Hi all : ) i'm currently looking to buy some summer event items . I probably don't have the worst luck on this server but i'm not far off and with me playing only a few hours a night i'm just not getting the number of runs in required to get my chances up. But i am in a position where i have saved up some dts for adding to stats to my weapons to which lol i currently can't find the items to make , so i would prefer to have the weapons then just some dts sat on a pm. Some might say carry on hunting Solo guy you will find stuff eventually but its draining the soul out of me seeing banners and hearing about other people's drops when 1 week into event Im neck deep in gibbles blood and have quite possibly dropped every non rare in game and a couple pds.So heres what i require i need x 2 Soul booster , offering 10 dts each got these now : ) i need x 1 pbc , offering 10 dts ( got one just need one more ) : ) i need x 1 centurian/battle , offering 60 dts got this now : ) if you are willing to help me out and have any of these things to trade either message me here or pm : )

I think the idea of individual drops but with current shared room drop DAR and rates is the fairest way to play this game. Phantasy Star online ep 1 and 2 is a game over 13 years old and the fact its still played and loved is great but the original game was not perfect. This server isn't a vanilla server. if people want that there are some out there or they can make there own. Ultima has become one of the most popular private servers due its reliability , helpful staff and its mix of improvements to game. A Lot of people who play now are old veterans who are used to system of "hey there , you help me hunt my item for 2 hours then i can help you for a couple of hours then we can help the other 2 guys who've been running with us" I can't speak for the rest of you guys but i don't have much free time to put into hunting anymore. The days of playing online games all day are gone for me and the rest of the folks that have jobs and family. The drop system i support is a fair one that can be abused , but really would more items on the market be bad ? 20dts for a pbc i've seen rooms selling pbc for 99 pd , if people abuse system and power farmed items to the point where they are worth nearly nothing then its a self made greed problem and will bring economy down but remember that dts still add percentages so weapons of value will still be same.Obviously something would need to be done about multi clienting but i'm not the guy with the knowledge on that subject. I see this a chance for Ultima to do something different to all the other servers and be unique in its fair system that rewards multiplayer the same as solo play which i'm sure if sega made this game today it surely would
