  1. you can find a nice picture of the keyboard controls here Home or f12 open the menu. Enter or down arrow can interact with things. The 'futuristic help desk area' is called the lobby, it is where you chill between games and talk to other people. To create a room, you interact with the ladies at the counter. They will let you create or join a room by selecting the 'organize party' then 'create/join party' options. The game also supports any standard controller input so long as it is plugged in before launching the game. @Lemon Alt+Backspace isn't guaranteed to save progress. It force closes the connection, it's a killswitch. If you are currently lagging, then it may not save data.
  2. I had to hunt luck mats before we had that quest. I would average about 17-22 when hunting the entire 3 hours of a happy hour, and i had to hunt at least 250 this way. Now getting 8 every 15min min with the quest is way way better. Even if you only have 1 account, it's still better than hunting la dimenian even during hh.
  3. just to note for clarification, when i said set damage 'cannot be dodged', I probably should have phrased it differently as 'cannot be blocked/evaded through evp'. Simply not being there where an attacks hit can dodge most everything. Set damage ignores your evp and dfp, as well as the enemy ata and atp, it's an unblockable, unmissable, non-physical non-elemental attack that does a set amount of damage, hence 'set damage'. Another way to think of it would be kind of like a non-elemental technique (one for which there is no resistance stat, as techs also don't miss, don't crit, and aren't blockable), like a 'flare' style (non-elemental defense piercing) magic in other rpgs.

  5. Honestly it doesn't matter all that much. Sometimes you can do adept, sometimes cure/freeze or something, or maybe some centurion/hp or heart container to help with psycho wands hp drain, etc. It's really up to you. If you want to go super serious, then having a battle unit and mixing in some sn demons can technically make some solo things faster, but that takes a lot more effort haha.
  6. I sent you a pm a few days ago to try and figure out when to meet up, but you never answered. I was a bit busy today though. Are you available tommorow, and if so when? What name/gc# should I look for you on in game?
  7. So 99% of the time, it is a resolution error when this happens (momentary black window then instant close). There is a possibility however, that it could be a DEP (Data Execution Prevention) error instead. You can try to add pso to the DEP exceptions. There a number of ways to reach that, but you can go to Control Panel > System (or right click my computer and go to properties) > Advanced System Settings > Performance > Data Execution Prevention, or you can search in the start bar for data execution prevention as well. Then you can choose "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" and then add pso to the exceptions.
  8. Cent/Arms and Cent/Resist : 10-15pd Cent/Battle : 15-25dt (would not pay more than 10 right now during event) All other Cents : 0-5pd Cent/power is still a really easy drop guys, it's 1/2 from pouilly slime. Easiest centurion unit of all.
  9. Yea, there's actually several things missing from pscave, but it's decent I guess. Some statuses overwrite others, so paralysis and poison will overwrite each other, as will confuse and freeze. However, paralysis and freeze do not overwrite each other, and even better, if an enemy is first frozen and then paralyzed, the game will run out the entire 6 second paralysis timer(for enemies only) before running the 4 second freeze timer, allowing you to effectively freeze an enemy for 10 seconds and get that sweet -30% evp reduction on them the whole time. Since you can't stack freeze (4 seconds only) the way you can stack paralyze (6 seconds each) and confuse (8 seconds each) onto enemies, it can be really handy to get that extra evp reduction over paraylsis' -15%.
  10. Yea, this game doesn't have full camera control the way you would see in modern games. There is only the 'center camera' button, which centers camera behind your character. As a seperate thing we do have the /cam command which will unlock the camera from the character and allow you to fly around with it, but that's more for taking screenshots or exploring or stuff. Dodging enemies requires you to bait out their attacks. After some practice you'll learn the range they want to attack you at, and then moving even the tiniest bit will dodge their attacks. If you are near an enemy and can target with them with any move, your character will go into a guard position and slow to a walk. Using a menu, be it shorcut menu or symbol chat or full menu can prevent you from targeting things and thus always run (if possible, having nothing that can target on 0-9 and using back palette can be ideal, since you can still use center camera freely. Useful on casts who can map only items and traps on 0-9, and attacks to front palette). Controllers can be handy for dodging, since not only will the slightest movement dodge, you can follow up with snap attack, where you do kind of a smash attack input to instantly face that direction and attack. This can allow you to do extremely tiny dodges and then instantly follow up with an attack. When executed properly, it's like you are dodging on the spot. Here is a vid which has a good example at around 3:40-3:45 (the vid quality is bad and it is sped up, but the guy executes 2 tiny dodge>snaptarget chains in a row, so you can see how good dodging can take not only minimal distance, but minimal time as well). This sort of thing can make dodging really interesting in this game.
  11. I'll prob still be around for a few more hours tonight, if not we can do it tommorow.
  12. I could uncombine it and get you the hp back at least, but without any pics I wouldn't be sure of ophize %s without having soly check backups. For future reference, you equip the item with the %s you want, and use the blank item on it. The game reads your currently equipped %s to create the new item.
  13. Have you tried uplugging and replugging your keyboard? Is there anything that could possibly be recongnized as a controller plugged in (like an adapter or something?) Does the problem persist even if you restart you computer completely? I guess one way to check if it is the keyboard causing it would be to start pso without the keyboard plugged in, since pso only recognizes things plugged in before it is launched. If it's not the keyboard, maybe some random peripheral is being recognized as a controller and doing something funky.
  14. You probably just had to do the quest on whatever difficulty you had done doc's secret plan on.
  15. If you really want it, I can fix it for you, though I wouldn't advise actually using the armor. Despite it being an armor with an extra effect (when morning glory is equipped gain atp+150 ata+10 and devil/battle), which is something to look for in high level armors, it has no dark resist and no elemental resist, and the extra effect is not all that great since morning glory is a claw type weapon (i.e. worst animation for males in the game, to the point of being unusable by them) which gains atp based on beat time. While it can be strong with a special and the armor on, but even on females or hunewearl it gets outclassed by other things and is mostly just for novelty. Do you remember how much +def/evp it had?
  16. That being said, while it looks pretty to have 'max', the practical effects are generally pretty negligible. Defense and EVP are very weak stats in general, and the variance you get on things doesn't make a significant difference. Sometimes people will state that an item is min, med, high, or max, or sometimes they will say the exact extra values (e.g. [DEF: 33/EVP: 21] ) but in general it's not actually all that important.
  17. You clearly didn't read the rules, though you did at least say it was an old one. I'm not counting this one as a submission though. It was a great one from years past, but it doesn't need to be in this thread. Try again xD.
  18. Yea, already got the gc# last night from my logs and soly got on it so.... -Solved-
  19. yes. it changes to the next person in order of who joined the room (note: this is irrespective of the game's player slot position; if join order is redria>whitill>oran>whiteleaves>blueful, then if red player leaves it goes to oran even though they are in 3rd player slot[yellow gem/arrow] and blueful is in 2nd player slot[green gem/arrow]). The change happens instantly when the current room leader leaves. If you want to hunt on redria, you must keep that player in the room still.
  20. You weren't on Redria then. Yellowboze and Whitill drop flame from nar lily.
  21. Her poor growth can sorta go both ways though. While all newmans have really bad growth stats (especially ata), it does mean you stand less to gain from levels as you do from mag/units, so once you have that cent/arms and 200mag at level 150, you are closer to maxing than other classes at that same level (12ata/150atp off max, compared to 17/166, 16/167, and 15/250). The thing that actually makes her harder to play at lower levels is her lower hp value than the other hunters; although it still reaches a good value at max, she's a little squishy earlier on. However, 20jellen can definitely work very well to help that out. She also gets access to all that sweet female gear that can help her out a good bit too. At 150 with a sue's coat, a slightly higher dex mag for leveling than you would use for maxing, and an extra c/pow, you can be at rough equivalent of 23atp off max (-48pow on mag to get max ata, +175 from sue's and c/pow). So, the poor growth sucks in some ways, but it can be helpful in other ways since you rely less on levels for some stats (besides hp) than other characters.
  22. Ultima Summer Forum Minievent 2018 Time grinds all to dust. Tales fade into legends fade into myth. They are all but forgotten. But a glimmer of hope still lies in the hearts of hunters. 23. Yes, by using the quick menu (which as lemon said is the same ctrl+end menu, it just cycles through weapons>items>techs/traps with right palette) or the f3 tech menu to queue spells, you will cast them on your first free frame, which is usually quite a bit faster when spamming a lot of something, even a turbo controller will not keep up with it. It can be useful for a number of things, such as gizonde tricking vol opt phase1 (0delay casting usually required to stunlock properly), and resta for selfcasts. Another use as mentioned, if you can drop targeting (such as when knocked to the ground, in weapon recovery, or changing weapons) and queue up a resta, you will not regain targets until after you cast resta, allowing you to only heal yourself. I like to keep Resta-Gizonde-Gifoie-Grants near the top of my menu, and Ryuker-Megid-Deband-Shifta near the bottom, allowing me relatively quick access to those spells whenever and can chain cast them if need be (mostly for gizonde/gifoie/grants/megid). It is also possible to cancel a queued tech by scrolling the menu to another category.
