In your router can you go to Advanced>Diagnostics>System Logs, and enable remote logging, then run the syslog daemon from this site http://www.mikrotik.com/archive.php If there is a problem on the router's end, we should be able to see what it is this way.

You need the newest unitxt_j.prs file. Open online.exe as administrator and hit patch, I'm pretty sure it should be in there. If it isn't in the patch server say that it didn't solve the problem and I, or someone else, can upload the correct file for you.

Your characters are stored on the server, so the only things you'd really need to backup are your screenshots and your logs -- if you'd like to keep those. Also, any mods you installed that would be difficult to reacquire.
