Edrick Mincy
Hi! I'm not new to PSO (maybe) because I've played the game on the Nintendo Gamecube offline, but I have a major problem on the game on my PC. I've kept installing and uninstalling the game because on every update, the .dll file always keep getting an error. Here's the error message... Therefore, I couldn't play the game because of the psobb.dll has an error. If you have an idea to help me with this, let me know. Quote Link to comment
Lemon
Are you launching from launcher? Is there a 'psobb.dll' file in ./psobb ultima/' Is your launcher v1.5.1? If so, try running the update button from it. Quote Link to comment
Fyrewolf5
Also, make sure your antivirus isn't trying to mess with pso, some antivirus really don't like the game, especially avast and avg are notorious for causing issues. Quote Link to comment

Yes, the launcher is v1.5.1 and I have been updating it, but it still gives me the same error message. As for the file location, I don't know if I should keep the file in the path that it's in, or reinstall it on a different path... I have Trend Micro and I've been putting the files in the exception list every time I install the game. Sometimes it interrupts, but it's okay afterwards. Quote Link to comment
Soly
Is this still happening? Its obvious that the dll is being corrupted by the antivirus or something else. What's the size of the dll file? Can you update through the launcher and then do a checksum? 7zip has an utility for this or you can use some online tool like this. Quote Link to comment
Edrick Mincy
The size of the file is 46 KB As for the checksum, I have the calculations via notepad, and the .dll file was updated. Here are the results... PSOBBdllChksum.txt Quote Link to comment
Soly
The checksum doesn't matter if its 46 kb... the file is 204 kb. Something is cutting the connection whie its downloading, most likely the antivirus (or firewall), if the AV has some sort of network monitoring stuff, be sure to add the launcher to that's stuff exceptions, if possible. Edrick Mincy
I feel like a moron for not explaining it to you sooner, but I have to put the Launcher into the exceptions list in my antivirus and run the launcher as an admin in order to get it working... It works now, so thank you so much for your help! Quote Link to comment
