  1. To my understanding, a large contingent of Team Triforce will be playing PSO2, including myself.

We will be establishing a team there upon release I'm sure, I'll leave the details and announcements up to fearless leader RocketTots.

I'm curious as to what they are gonna use (Windows Store or just normal installation like the JP version).
And in either case, if they are gonna bundle it with the GG rootkit...

For the love of God, I'm praying for a regular install per JP version and not some M$ bait and switch via their Store.

Why in the hell couldn't Sega release it though Steam?  *sigh*

  4. I'd say it's about 50% luck and 50% skill at best, you're truly at the mercy of RNG of making use of whatever drops during the run.

I'd be interested in giving this a shot though.  Your best bet is with a lvl 200 character though right?

I know your level gets nerfed back to lvl 1, but your core stats are still the same right?

Whats the recommended ATA for CCA? I'm lvl 162 and ran it earlier today and was missing around half of my attacks.

If it's in ultimate, as high as you can get it, period. The monsters in EP2 ultimate have stupid high evade.

If you're using a HU character, (and maybe even some RAs!)expect alot of misses if you don't have some hit weapons, arm units or a mag with sufficient dex on it.

Those Gibbons and Zol Gibbons are probably the worst in EP2. (the orangutan looking monsters)

They are VERY hard to hit without some stuff to raise ATA with, they move around alot too making it even harder to hit them.

Also I noticed, when testing frames, that It stays at 15 FPS at all times. I'm starting to think something is capping my frames but I turned off Frame Designation, Radeon Chill, V-Sync and Free-Sync in the Adrenalin menu. Would you have any advice for that?

In the Ultima PSOBB Launcher, have you checked your Options - > Graphics - > Frame Skip to see what it's set to?

Leave your Free-Sync on your monitor if it supports it, it's good to leave on and prevents screen tearing, otherwise leave V-Sync on.

Aside from that, I'll have to wait till I get home to see all the options available under the AMD Catalyst menu.

Honestly I'm more suspect of your hardware at this point.

Again, you never told me what brand of Radeon you've got, like XFX, Sapphire, MSI, Powercolor, etc.

I am seeing more and more how intricate the design of this game is. Was it like this on gamecube or has this been added on the server!?

You have to understand, the game has been through effectively 3 revisions since it's initial release, PSO (original version, released on Dreamcast, EP1), PSO ver. 2 (released on Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, PC, EP2 added) and PSOBB. (released on PC, aka Blue Burst, ver. 3, EP4 added)   With each revision after the original release, new areas, equipment, items, monsters and a new Episode are added.  Now, granted Ultima has quite a bit of new weapons, items and armors that are exclusive to it added to the mix, but the core of the original game is still all here.

For a time in the early 2000s, this game was the pinnacle of JRPGs out there,(and I don't think anything has ever come quite so close IMHO, not even PSO2!) so there's alot of reasons why it's still played to this day.  Now don't get me wrong, I do love me some Dragon Quest and I'm a huge fan of Square Enix's JRPGs, but Sega and PSO created a real classic!  The fact this is the year 2020, people are still playing this on private servers and the game came out in 2000 (20 freaking years!!!) speaks volumes.

  8. Yea Psyduck314, there are a few weapons with odd-ball specials that work off "beat-time" for it to work.

Mille Marteaux is one of them with it's Divine Punishment, off time, it just "auto-locks" targets with regular hard attacks.

Galatine is another example, it's power is hilariously affected by beat-time:

Galatine has a base ATP of 330-420 which is multiplied depending on the beat time.

    000-124: 0.33x (110-140)

    125-249: 0.5x (165-210)

    250-374: 1x (330-420)

    375-499: 2x (660-840)

    500-624: 3x (990-1260)

    652-749: 2x (660-840)

    750-874: 1x (660-840)

    875-999: 0.5x (165-210)

The weapon's grinds are also affected by the beat time, giving Galatine a potential ATP range of 1,044 - 1,314, making it possibly one of the strongest swords on this server.

    *UPDATE*

Ahhh found another one, Morning Glory, it's only for HUnewarls though:

Morning Glory gains up to an extra 250 ATP depending on beat time, allowing the weapon to have up to 750 ATP, almost putting it on par with the legendary Nei's Claw. The amount of extra ATP gained is calculated with the following formula: (Current Beat Time / 4)

It also has some nice bonuses when equipped with:

Morning Prayer  -  +150 ATP, +10 ATA and +10% battle speed

Thanks man, I figured it would boil down to all that, as I had to do that years ago for a different card. This is gonna be a real pain in the ass. but, what I don't get, is that only PSO is affected by frame drop. Every other game I've tested so far works flawlessly. I'm kinda stumped here.

No problem Clappy, hopefully you'll get it sorted out.

This problem affecting only PSOBB is quite strange, but again, this is a rather old game.

It's not uncommon for older games to get broken for new driver fixes from what I've seen over the years.

Ultimately, you may have to revert to some fairly older drivers to get PSOBB fixed IMHO.

Try the newest drivers from your card's manufacturer website support/driver download section and see if that helps.

If not, uninstall and try a older driver from them.

Let me know if you have any success Clappy, hopefully this will fix Crank's issue as well.

I tried the above aforementioned suggestions, though I haven't tested the AMD Catalyst suggestion yet. Where would I find the folder that would contain the AMD Catalyst driver?

I wouldn't try to remove the driver manually if you don't know exactly how Clappy, it's not just the folder somewhere on C:\ drive, it's also your Windows System Registry entries that are tied to those files.  Trying to manually remove every trace of the drivers from your computer is rather a real pain in the ass you'd not want to deal with IMHO if you can help it.  This is why I recommend using a Driver Remover Utility program to automate all of that process for you and it can do it far more quickly.

Here, try this, it's straight from AMD as well:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601

The AMD Catalyst is the entire driver suite Clappy, it's not just the drivers but also the "front end" that allows you to tweak, manage and even set individual setting for games installed on your computer, it also sits in your system tray.

What brand is your Radeon RX580 btw?  Mine is a Sapphire...  If you're gonna install drivers from somewhere, that's where I'd start first, from the actual card manufacturer, not AMD's website.  That's a measure of last resort IMHO.

Is there a way to lock on a target? Struggling to figure out what key it is, if at all possible.

Also since I just started what should I do to grind up some meseta? Can't afford fluids much to get TP back. Been running back and forth to the Med Center lol (not looking for handouts) just info on what to grind.

Targeting: When playing as a FO, look for the blue arrows to lock on a target when you get into adequate range, some techs like Megid or Grants will auto target, others like Rafoie or Razonde hit a very wide radius of an area.  With single targets as a RA or HU to aim a direct fire weapon, look for red arrows, use the left or right arrow keys to cycle through targets, lightly tap your arrow key to select the desired target.

Ahhh Meseta...  Your best bet is to try to catch a GM opening up a meseta room, there they will drop stacks of 999,999 meseta where you can load up your characters and banks.  Sometimes they will use a GM TO ALL at the top of the screen to let everyone on the server know the room is being opened.  Otherwise, pick up every bit of meseta you can see and try to hit every box you come across to build up your funds till then, maybe some more veteran players will drop you a stack or so of some meseta?  Never hurts to ask, if you can find me in game I'll give you a few 100k of meseta to help get you going.

    Hope this helps, good luck!

  13. Hmmm strange indeed, I just got a Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX590 a week or so ago and haven't had any serious issues what you guys are describing.

Granted, I have noticed a bit of slowdown in the seaside area, but I think I can tweak that out eventually.  That area always gives people graphics problems...

My humble suggestion gents, remove your graphics drivers, COMPLETELY remove them via either RegEdit or a graphics driver cleaner program.

Before you reboot, also go into the Windows Device Manager and remove the card manually there as well.(if hasn't been removed already after graphics driver removal)

Reboot and install the latest video driver for your card from your appropriate manufacturer's support download section.

I would NOT advise using the standard AMD Catalyst drivers, from AMD's website, as you may run into such issues again with them.(they seem to be rather general in operation, for AMD actual reference cards)

If that does not work, then I'd look into the Catalyst Omega drivers.

Oh, for what it's worth, I'm on a AMD Athlon X4 860k at 4Ghz with a ASUS Crossblade Ranger mobo and 32 gigs of DDR3, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Hope this helps, have hope my friends, the card will work with this game, I'm still playing it on mine. :onion120:

  14. To be honest DarkMadDog21, the Canadian dollar has always typically been weaker than the US dollar when it comes to exchange rates.

But I can't necessarily disagree with your liberal cucks assessment, liberal financial policy tends to eventually and ultimately bankrupt a nation.(and this is by design, so they can provide yet another "solution", wonderful communism! /sarc) :onion108:

    Thanks for donating though!  :onion-head11:

I'd tell you not to blow it all in one place, but that's kinda impossible here, as we all ultimately get "new digital toys" via donations here.  :onion-head63:
