You can use the lower skins just fine, but after one of them (5) you have to use the first head/hair, if you don't the game won't show your character neither let you move. You simply type "/npc 3" in the chat, and you will see white text on the side telling you skin updated and to change blocks. Then you go to the lobby counter and you hit transport > change blocks > block 1 or 2, and you will be sonic when you reappear.
