Connection Issues

So lately I have been having a hard time connecting to the server. Everytime I log in I seem to get the "server is full" error message, and even after trying multiple times if I do manage to connect I either D/C before or after the ship selection. I have been told that If I reset my router it might fix the problem but that doesn't seem to be working. What should I do?

Confirm if your antivirus/firewal got the folder(PSO folder) added to the exceptions and try to rename psobb.pat to psobb.exe(keep a copy of the original) and run it as admin.(not sure if this helps)

If something try to reinstall pso.

I searched for a PSOBB.pat file and just found a file named PSOBB which happens to be a pat. Isnt that just a design pattern file though?

I am probably just going to reinstall the game, how would I go about doing that? the game installer doesn't work, so should I do it in safe mode?

Well I found a temporary solution. For whatever reason I cannot connect to Ultima with my WiFi, however if I use an Ethernet cable it works instantly. . . Could it be because I am on a busy WiFi connection? It used to work fine before.

Probably is that... although i don't use wireless connection for the PC

and regarding to the files stuff you say....

Your system might identify the .pat files as some image related files if you have a program for image editing (i use GIMP and it does it), but pat stands for patch i guess... if you can't see the extension of files by default (and want to enable them) do this:

  1. Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
  2. Click the View tab, and then, under Advanced settings, do one of the following:
  • To show file name extensions, clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
  • To hide file name extensions, select the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
