Not able to launch the game

Hi Guys,

 

I'm new here and I'm not able to launch the game.

When executing launcher.exe it updates successfully

When I try to start the game it triggers an error saying that psobb.exe stopped to work.

Already tried many resolutions and compatibility mode and administrator mode

 

Looking for a more detailed error, I found the following in dll.log:

...

[01-05-2020, 04:41:20] Couldn't open _items.ini
[01-05-2020, 04:41:41] Couldn't open _items.ini
[01-05-2020, 04:42:48] Couldn't open _items.ini

...

Tried to rename the "/data/_items.default.ini" to "/data/_items.ini" without success.

I'm using a windows 8 with a I7 and a GT 425M.

 

No idea how to proceed, can someone please help me?

The log about _items.ini is just to... well... log that, it doesn't have any effect on the game.

Did you install the game from the installer?
(The launcher only downloads updates, it doesn't install other required files)

Sure, executing as administrator.

One thing I didn't try and just realized now is that I didn't put the launcher in the folder the game is installed. Can it be related?

Well, you realized... the launcher has to be in the same folder where psobb.exe is, yeah.
