I played for.. a long time in the past, PSO is one of my alltime favorite games. However, I'm an absolute sniveling noob at it, and it gets lonely just doing solo. I'd love to join a friendly active team to just kinda, you know, enjoy the game with and mess around and grind.
I've got a HuCast, 123 greenill
But I also have a RaMar, and a FoNewearl I'm going to level up too.

Using Account Recovery, You should receive an email like this
Which points you there, with the Key field automatically filled in.
Just enter your new password twice and you are good to go.
Ahh, thank you! I guess what was happening was that Chrome replaced the key with the autofill forum password.. odd, never had that happen before with password resets.
-
Plus the account recovery seems to be supposed to send a key..? But no key ever gets sent to use, so my browser just tries to use either my forum password, or none at all.

I played a long time ago, maybe about a year or two, and I can't remember the password I used to login to the game. However going through the password recovery that's on the site, it requires me to use my old password? How am I supposed to reset my password for not remembering it, if I need to remember my old password? I really need some help.

no that you have wine-stagging installed first of all try to run the game, skiping the launcher...
go to the game directory in console once you are in the game directory tipe "wine psobb.exe" WITH OUT the quote.
if the game starts up then your going good.
next step is to install net framework 4.0 or 4.5 where is easier.. for this you will need a "program" (more like a script) called winetricks to install it --https://wiki.winehq.org/Winetricks
once you have winetricks installed follow this to install the net framework
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2283185
the launcher should now work for your.
report results.
HALLELUJAH. IT WORKS. Better make this a pinned fix to linux mate, because you are a savior.

noooo i said 17.3 it should be there before the new 18 has bugs did .. did it work? let me know how things turned out sorry i fell a sleep hahha
Wasn't able to get it set up, my work environment was dusty and there's static risk for messing with the chromebook. Had to remove the read/write switch on the motherboard, couldn't risk it. Working on getting it running on this other laptop instead, and the mystery lies in tha tI got schthack to work, with its launcher, but not Ultima.

Alright, I installed wine-staging, but I'm not sure what to do now. I have both wine and wine-staging or something? Am I supposed to load the game with the staging version instead? And if so, how?
-
Alright, thanks man. Hopefully the issue doesn't persist with the bullshit "deferred" file problem. If it happens again, I'll save the file and paste it.

ok i guess you will install it Mint or ubuntu?
What was on the laptop is ubuntu. I am now in the process of attempting that .wine patch, but I can't find the source file because I installed it through apt-get instead of git. I got this working on ubuntu before, so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
-
Update, the chromebook thing isn't gonna work. However, I've got a different linux laptop, HP brand using an i5 Intel with a mobile.....something. Way better tahn the chromebook despite being way older. So, gonna try and et the game running here.
-
Seems I'll actually be getting the latest Mint, which is 18.1 "Serena". Hopefully that'll do.
-
What is it? Mint 17.3 with Cinnamon 64? Can that even be accessed with Chroot? Ah well, time to find out.

ya i got that before find the verison of wine that works with it thats why i was using that one set wine kind you may have to reinstall linux to get it to work only useing the wine i listed even then it may not work im sorry its picky thank you for taking the time to try !
Thanks for helping anyways man. I can also easily reinstall a different version of linux, just gotta wipe the chromebook and go back to developer mode. No problem. And also, GNOME isn't a very good version D:
-
Well, it's giving me an error when I start it up, showing that it can't even load. Not sure what the problem is, but it's showing a lot of lib files being deferred?
I'm attaching the error file so that you can see it. I can't make any sense of it at all.
-
Oh wait, things seem alright, it's not opening a virtual machine window, it's just opening the installer with ease. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.
-
Alright, did all of these steps, and now there is no .wine folder in my /home/. Am I missing anything?

you tryed installing it with terminal try removeing it first then a clean install maybe that will help sorry im no good with this
Alright, so go through the uninstall program and such? Not sure what to do about the wine program loader, but I can take a look at the winehq versions

just dubble click on options or the other starter exe's use wine loader you dont need wine tricks
Oh, that's not what I mean. I have wine tricks, but the program loader isn't installed. And....there's no options program when I installed it. All I have is the psobb.exe, psobb.pat, and Launcher.exe for the executable files.

ya there was look for it see if his answer works at all for you Im useing linux mint 17.3 dont use the latest to meny bugs
try coppying a folder that it worked from as well sometimes it helps linux is picky about psobb
Alright, followed your steps, and I got the game installed. However, I lost the configure wine function and the program loader after installing the devel kit, and now the game won't load up. Not sure how to get it back, honestly.
-
That's how I used to get it running, honestly, and I thought there another post here saying it wasn't necessary anymore. Ah well, I'll get on it. Thanks man, I'll let you know how it goes

1) I was running the game using the wine program loader, not the console. Not sure how to do that in general
2) I wasn't actually able to get the downloaded patch setup, but when I first installed the game and loaded it up, there was indeed a patch that went through
3) I selected windows 7 for the environment
4) I tried running the game from the harddrive, /drive_c/ folder, and the sd card, with no luck and the same results each time: Endless screen telling me it's connecting to the server
Not sure what to do, but I'll gladly follow some instructions if you've got any
-
Damn, even trying to do that whole patch business isn't doing anything worthwhile. I honestly think the game won't run on a chromebook. Ah well, it was worth a try anyways.
-
Nope, didn't work out. Same problems.

I had some stuff about that... but I can't find it...
The only thing I remember is that you had to install winetricks then install net framework from somewhere, I think larva put that in a topic somewhere. Thanks man, I found the NET Framework 4.5 version on WineHQ and I'm installing it now. I'll report back if it works or doesn't.
Looking for nice active team
