  1. Glide drop rate must be pretty hefty, I have gotten 3 or 4 Perfect resists while running Fragment of memory, but no Glide divines... Or Whitil is cursed, very possible. :cr-dizzy:

  2. From @teh2chao2's chatbox post; A system for adding Hit to weapons apart from DTs would be huge. I know some people (myself included) gripe about Hit being a necessity once you start playing on ultimate, what if we had a system that allowed you to increase hit on weapons up to 30%? My initial thought would be using PDs as the currency, but there could be something else like how the New years event worked. Limiting it to 30% seems reasonable since you'd want at least that amount to feel usable in ultimate, and still provides the PTW path of getting to 80% with DTs (and the typical random chance of good stats). An argument could be made to just adjust the Ultimate monsters down so that Hit% isn't a necessity, but that doesn't seem as fun, and an avenue for new players to be able to add hit to any weapon they find would be great. It would also act as another form of progression in the game to work towards which could help with player retention.

It would of course have a negative impact on the economy since any weapons with only 30 or below hit would become devalued, but from my experience not that many people are buying those items anyway. (at least not the regular rares, event items are more frequently purchased). A possible alternative to using Pds for the currency would be multiple copies of the same weapon. The system could be similar to how monster weapons add hit, where it has a lower chance of success as you get more hit% on the weapon. Give up a copy of a weapon you want to add hit to and you have a chance to successfully add hit to the weapon, that could help bring up the price of those weapons if they are constantly being sacrificed to add hit instead of taking up vault space. I have been trying to think of ways that the trade economy could be simulated and I think this could help, but maybe that doesn't matter if we don't have a super active player base anyway.

The method for adding hit mentioned above would be relatively busted with quests like BPDD, but since its only 30% that you could reach I don't think it would be that unbalanced. At worst it would become a method for people to farm 30% hit Yas weapons.

    Thoughts?

  3. Probably way too much work, but server side tracking of things like monster kill counts, quest completions, etc. would be pretty cool! There could be filters applied during each event to see who is hunting what monsters, how many times they got the rare drop from the monster, times died, other stuff like that. If leaderboards could be accessed through the forums it would promote more traffic back and forth from the game to the forums. Possible downside is people could try to track down those who have gotten many kills on certain monsters to try and approach them with nefarious intent.

Again, I am pretty sure setting up this kind of tracking would take a shit ton of effort (if even possible), but even a bare bones version would be a fun addition!

  4. Does Weak attack work better for 1 phasing? You can do a similar stun lock if you have C/Battle equipped by doing a weak, strong, strong (need to delay the third one almost to the point of missing the combo) combo, but that would break the screens faster so I don't know if it would be a better result. I also found that Frozen/Arrest Faust was a good option for damaging the main body after the screens are broke/turned off. Good to know that Bomb-chu works as well!

  5. I only found it recently but the Valkyrie is a pretty cool weapon. Only usable by female characters, doesn't have the highest ATP or anything but does have innate 40% attack speed buff and no special! Fun weapon to incorporate into builds :) Back in the GameCube days when the best rares I could get were on Very hard mode, I loved Blade Dance, but its just not worth using on Ultima given every other option XD

  6. A unit that raises tech level, but can go above the class max level. My initial idea was to alter the current /technique units to let this happen, primarily because it could be a cool unit option for classes that can't reach tech level 30 (Like making a support focused Hunewarl with level 25 S/D) But there would need to be some restrictions/issues. Like only one  /technique unit can be equipped at a time. I don't know how balancing would work with Forces, since they could go above 30 which may not be handled by the code (Don't know if tech damage is a calculation based on the tech level or if it pulls from a reference table with set tech levels). You could just cap techs to 30 but that means the unit would eventually be worthless for the Force class which seems lame.

So with that in mind, a compromise instead of altering the existing technique units could be to add a new one. In order to make it not too over powered for Forces (If it could raise techs above 30) it could be set to +3 instead of +5 like Cent/Technique. You would want to limit the number of units that can be equipped to 1 as well. (Alternatively, you could have the unit only bump it by 1 but allow multiple units to be equipped, that way you would need to be more selective with how armor units are chosen).

The only concern I have (Besides "is it possible to code") is balancing for forces. I understand not wanting to add something that would increase force damage drastically.

A unit like this would add a new layer to build crafting for many classes which I think could be neat/fun.

  7. There are a bunch of rares you will find, especially demo comet. Easiest way is probably going to be from rare monsters, like if you run skyly/bluefull/redria on ultimate you will get them now and then during TTF runs (Towards the future). It does take a while to get to that point, but you will find lots of people (Like Steaks) who would happily give you a spare. :)

  8. Would it be possible to make cure units work if you equip them after getting an effect? Probably a little OP but also would take some skill since you would have to go through menus to equip, get healed, then un-equip it. I thought they had worked this way initially but when I tried it recently it didn't seem to work. Would be a nice QOL improvement as well as raise the skill ceiling for the game a bit!

Hey sorry I know this is an old post, but I'm considering doing the same hunt as my 25hit BT isn't cutting it. Your post states the yellow ID gets a bump in drops with hit%? Am I reading this right? Is this the only ID with that buff? And are there other ID with the same Buff/ similar buffs?

    Thanks!

Yep, for some reason in EP2, the chance to get a weapon with hit is not like it is in EP1, its always 1% chance. The only exception happens to be Yellowboze who apparently has around 3% drop rate? I don't know if any of these numbers are confirmed but this is what people seem to have discovered.  Section ID's do have unique properties to them like chance of finding dagger class weapons and things like that but besides Yellowboze there are no bonus' related to hit% chance on any other section ID. Normally It would be best to farm for Hit% weapons on EP1 ultimate because they allegedly have a 5% chance to have hit, But Bloody art does not drop on Ultimate. With all that being said, I had determined the best way to farm Bloody Art was EP2 Very hard mode Hildeblues, because the drop rate on them is very high (7/8) and Hildeblues and other rare mobs spawn more frequently during green name times. I don't know if green name times are on right now during this event because I haven't played in a while. If they aren't then a different farming method might be better.

    Hope that helps!

would be nice but,  i don't think it should be done,  if scape dolls stack up to 99, it would be a bit overpowered to have people running around with invulnerability. if you want to reduce your amount of scape doll you can sell them in the shop for some meseta... ^^

maybe lowering the drop rate could be a solution, less scape doll in circulation could open a new way of farming item for pds ^^

Like I said you shouldn't have them be stack-able on characters, just in the banks. Character stacks would be over powered as you mentioned.

  11. This has probably been suggested but would it be possible to have scape dolls stack able in banks but not on characters? We cant have them both be stack able because that would be a bit overpowered but I think freeing up a ton of bank space would be nice for everyone. I know I don't even try to pick them up much anymore just because I have more than I will probably ever use in my bank and don't want to take up even more space. Not sure its even possible with how the game is coded but would be a very nice QOL change.

Hey all. I've put off playing PSOBB for way too many years. I spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing GCN PSO with my ASCII keyboard controller back in the day. It was one of my favorite games. So many fond memories partying up with people and crushing content... and of course having people hack the server and sneaking into rooms where they'd drop hacked items. Lots of fun to be had.

I settled on Ultima PSO because, as an adult now, I don't have the hours to put into the grind anymore. I've been playing it the past two days and it's such a blast from the past. I made a RAmar and I'm currently level 28. I've ran TTF with two awesome lv200 people who were generous enough to give me a handful of rares, yellow boosters, and a mediocre mag (better than my starting mag, lol)

I guess my question is... how should I be spending my time? I did a couple solo quests and they were very boring. I did one government quest online, it was slightly better. I can do a normal TTF run through Dragon (and probably more, but through Dragon is quick) solo and I can do UP TO dragon on Hard TTF. Leveling is still slow though. Is there an optimal thing or things I should be doing to level up and experience the game? Any tips would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing you guys on Pioneer 2!

Honestly for this server it comes down to events and event drops. For most if not all of those drops you want to be able to farm any level of ultimate so main concern is actually going to be getting to level 200. Since green names aren't going on right now (which means no 5x exp)  its not necessarily the best Idea to be trying to get to 200. Things to focus on for this server that I have found differ from the base game would be depending on the class you play. Since you are a ranger I wouldn't worry a ton about finding weapons with hit % but on this server anything that has hit % is worth keeping. At the moment I guess I would suggest getting to the point where you can grind something in ultimate mode. Anything you can farm for your class ID or work for at the moment during these off times would be ideal. Once 5x exp comes back you should try to hit 200 as fast as you can and start farming event drops. Apart from those 2 things I would say just try to do whatever you have fun in the game doing. I like to try and get an SJS myself instead of buying it so that's a long term goal I have set up at the moment. Its really up to you.

  13. The next even drops SS It might be better to just wait and see if you can farm some. A lot cheaper as well since I think SS with hit and stats is 40 DT's plus
