More items in multiplayer? That's the complete opposite of what the picture shows. Even a toddler can see that soloing gives you far more items than multiplayer. Also, opinions about how a "D&D group" is supposed to play the game are completely irrelevant because everyone is entitled to their own way of playing. So I want to refrain from arguing about opinions because it's a total waste of time.

Fact: Most of the hunts can and will be solo'd. Roct is an exception, but this drop system is here to stay even after summer event, correct? How many people are soloing olga during xmas or gryphon for post?

Fact: ~ 90% of the (serious) people are soloing. Regardless of what playstyle theories or etiquettes you want to lecture. Not my fault, it is what it is. And again, roct is an exception. If roct were soloable it would be solo'd.

That said, what we really would like, is an incentive for the serious players to move from solo to multiplayer. This has a couple of benefits for everyone.

    1. More fun and social, solo is boring

    2. Newbies won't ragequit because they can finally get in on the big hunts -> bigger playerbase -> good for everyone

But at this moment, the greed for items is way higher than any other benefit gained from multiplayer. If you don't see that you're just naive.

Anyway, I really feel like I'm wasting my time arguing with people that don't want change.

Oh ok, i get it now. I thought you were saying more than you actually are.
But yeah, what you said it's totally true if we speak in pure terms of efficiency, however 2p hunt can be better than single in a few cases.
But not everyone likes to play alone all the time. And it depends by your gear, and the mission you are going to farm.
The thing i wanted to underline is that if Dar is too low, it is never worth to use individual drops.
In pso i have always hated shared drops, that's why i would really like individual drops to be worth it.

I personally feel it's disgusting to split up with your friends and solo everything. But the truth is that it's the best (only?) way to get endgame items. Everyone here knows so and everyone does so. Just look at the room list during hh and you'll see 90% locked rooms with 1/4 players. I don't like it, but it's the way it is. Problem is I feel new players have a hard time getting help this way and quit Ultima...

This photo is very simplistic, i really don't llike it.
You are supposing the dar for the item dropped is 1 and increasing the number of rolls.
Even like this with 25% you would have (0,0,0,0) for the most and sometimes a (0 0 0 1) if you count that monsters actually have an initial dar.

It's supposed to be simplistic. The image portraits the ideal case scenario for all 3 methods in which they all have the same chances and the same probability. The point of the picture is that when the odds are the same, it's much more efficient to split a group up and hunt things in seperate rooms.

This is assuming everyone has the gear to solo. This is leaving out the fact you can't exactly farm as quickly with 4 people doing their own thing. Roct is probably the most efficient way to c/battle hunt now that LHB isn't a thing for the time being. I don't think you'll have people that can solo roct, at least in an amount of time that'd be efficient. Weather Effects is the easiest thing to solo that has epsilons in it, and depending on the person, can take 10-20 minutes, and that is just for two epsis, assuming you reset after the second room in tower.

That's why I said most hunts. RT, TTF and pod can all be solo'd. The point is, people with gear CAN solo hunts and will continue to do so because it's much more eficient.

  5. Well since most people in this topic are fighting over opinions I'll just leave this here.

The 3 methods can be done in roughly the same time frame for most hunts. Obviously everyone soloing brings much more items to the server than a group of people hunting together (with whatever system). I don't see why the DAR rates for multiplayer shouldn't be increased.

  7. That's your opinion. Not a fact. A sell/trade topic is not the same as an auction with conditions because in an "auction" the offers are open for everyone to see. I can't stand when someone's selling something and I make them an offer, they say they have already 3 offers higher but they won't say what they are. I think that's a key difference and imo just as greedy. Also, if you feel you're wasting your time, then don't bid. No one is forcing anyone to participate in an auction you don't like the rules of. But because there are no set rules as of this moment, as far as I can tell people have the right to auction how they please.

I think the biggest issue here is that you and howi used sabrina's thread to rant about auction behavior that 90% of the people here are guilty of including myself. You guys ruined Sabrina's auction.

PS: I fully support having actual auction rules. If anything it would prevent unnecessary drama like this.

think the auctions are too high already D: how come he will be disgusted by the offers?

That's the reason? Sabrina's auction never even got the chance to get bids because it was flooded with drama. No one is going to bid in a thread full of drama.

  12. I agree, it's easiest major event item to get. I wouldn't even go above 10dt outside of event myself considering how easy of a drop it is and the fact that it's just a combiner, all the value is in the actual excal needed. I've actually seen them go for 30 pds still even outside of summer, though they could go for 50-60ish then.

@tru People may be trying to set a price higher, but that price is way higher than the value/worth of one. The value isn't based solely on supply/demand, there's a lot of other factors that go into it such as how easy of an event item drop it is and, it beng available for the next two events, the fact that it's worthless without an excal, etc. Most of the factors that go into valuing are things the seller and buyer have absolutely no control over. People may complain about dark weapon prices going up, but it's happened to other things too like SB and PoST (the 2nd easiest major event item and also just a combiner), and not because any real change in those other factors but because some people want to greedily overcharge and take advantage of newbie ignorance (this happend with post, one newbie purposely overpays for post, literally states he knows he is overpaying, and everyone sees it and gets dollarsign eyes and double/triple the price of every post overnight. nothing changed, people just got greedy). Anyone could arbitrarily set an item "price" at many times more than the value at any time (I heard of people selling glide at prices that would get someone 3 hylian shields, and it would be ridiculous to say an extremely limited usefulness tech gear like glide is worth 3 hylians which is easily among the best tech gear in the game and much harder to get too). That's why I'm sticking to saying the relative value/worth of the items (in terms of their usability, viability, availability, comparison to other similar options, etc.) in this thread instead.

After all, the point of this thread is helping people to know what they have and not get ripped off it. The price can be over or under the value, we should stick to the value so people know what they should be aiming for.

    Well said.

  13. He's not trolling. He brought up valid points, I just think it's unfair to say that the offer doesn't have an equal value. People atm mainly do dw swaps, however that doesn't mean no one is willing to trade. I would suggest unsealing the limiter and selling the adept and dts for pds. You might even oversell the hylian for a fair bit ofdts

Oh c'mon, he says a charge arms is equivalent to a DM. And when asked to leave he then begins to bash the offer. It's Sabrina's right to offer whatever she likes to offer.
