  1. I don't think the game will recognize the PS4 controller without an app?
Tbh I haven't tried as I have always used DS4Windows... if DS4W recognizes your controller, then it should work... for the record I do not hide the DS4 Controller (settings of the app)

I'm using the version from here https://ryochan7.github.io/ds4windows-site/

Another thing, given that I removed the need for admin rights to run the game, you shouldn't need to run the other apps (DS4W in this case) as admin, unless that tool requires it itself.

  2. I agree with you on linking to old topics that might have old/incorrect information (if you take stuff from them, you can always give credit to whoever made the original topic).
But maybe you can make individual topics for your guides and link them in a central topic, if that makes it easier to read (not having to scroll a lot to find a specific thing, that is if the post ends up being really long).

I'm down to help with any data/information that I can provide (contacting me over discord is probably better than the forum tho).

Also this is just me, but if something can be explained on text, I'd rather have text than video (or both)

Firstly - I've been doing guild counter quests in the solo player party mode - when I complete one, I always get kicked back to the main lobby. Is this intended Ultima behaviour? Not a big deal, just a bit inconvenient when you want to complete a few in a row!

This is intended BB mechanics, all BB private servers will have the same behaviour, you will be sent back to the lobby after finishing a quest.

Secondly - when playing as a regular party, am I right in thinking you can only access the custom Ultima missions created by the community?

There are more quests than just community quests.

Basically, I just want to solo my way through the game to get myself up to speed again and pick up a few levels and items before starting to play with others. If there is a proper thread about any of these bits, feel free to link!

If you can play with other people, that's fine too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  4. While I think it could be a possibility, it would still be weird, I mean... if it were to block it, it would probably not even let you connect to the patch.
Still worth to try disabling them temporarily and see if it helps.

I can not log in, says "servers may be under maintenance" - but also 7 players online - so maybe just full?

Your issue is different, and is most likely an antivirus or firewall (or even your ISP).

    @Gotty
The server is definitely not full.
Could you share the exact message you get?

  6. We have not updated anything after the server update 2 days ago that wouldn't have caused this anyway.

I'd suggest to disable your antivirus and/or firewall temporarily and see if that helps.

  7. Created a new page to generate settings for the game, this will be helpful for users that are not able to use the launcher.
The page is not available to the public yet, as it generates a new set of settings that will be used once we perform the update in this post

In the very near future I am going to update the launcher to .Net Core, which is something similar to .Net Framework but it won't run on XP.
In that case, if you can't migrate to a newer OS or install .Net Core, you will have to update the game manually as well change settings using that page.

  8. I don't think we know of any other solution for that...

As a test, you could try completely disabling DEP with the following command in cmd (ran as administrator)

    Quote

    bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

    To re enable it, use

    Quote

    bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn

Other than that, not really sure how you could solve that.
I'd suggest to double check the DEP setup

I did use the "this is incorrect" button and sent out a form to dispute the categorization, it seems to have worked because upon trying to load PSOBB today, the launcher was able to communicate with the patch server successfully and update itself as it should. No more error 908. :D
(Also I can access ultimapsobb.com without that malware warning now.)

It's been resolved. Soly, thank you for your assistance. 🙇‍♂️

Thank you for helping with that!

Thank you for your reply, Soly.
I manually updated both the launcher and the game files, but the issue persists..

I did get this weird warning while trying to access the files on https://www.phantasystaronline.net/forum/index.php?/downloads/:

Inquiring further leads to a page related to the DNS server that I'm currently using (UltraDNS).
I will have to try changing to another DNS and see if that's the issue.

EDIT: DNS wasn't the issue. Trying to start the game manually leads to an error: 908.

Sadly my launcher, the dll and even the game executable itself is false positive flagged as malware... So you will have to whitelist the files or the directory where the game resides.
