most people who have this problem are just using the wrong .exe file, its a simple mistake that i made when i first started. just use vonline.exe and it should work.

i use usb kayboard and that works fine. use vonline.exe for windows 7. if you try to use online.exe then i think it prevents you from typing. also you may need to change your keyboard language, although i dont know how 2 do that on windows 7.

i thought it would b interesting 4 ppl 2 post their compooter specs, in the last couple of years ive gotten into building PCs and stuff and ive realised how much i prefer it to a console (although if i had kept my xbox 360 i would have modded it like hell, but i didnt have the knowledge at the time)

in dirt 2 full settings (DX11) i get around 45-60fps, shattered horizon mid settings i get around 50-60fps (if i put all settings on full i get 25-30fps, but on shooting games you need reaction time so at least 45 fps is needed to make it playable), devil may cry 4 full settings around 230-280fps, borderlands full settings around 55-70fps.

within a year i should upgrade to (hopefully):

amd phenom 2 3.0ghz X6 six-core black edition (coolermaster V8, ill overclock it to at least 3.2ghz cos its £50 cheaper than the stock 3.2ghz version lol)

8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram (4X2gb) 9-9-9-24 timings

my current specs are pretty standard now but not bad for a 15 year old's 1st build, took me over a year to save up the £600 it cost me to build and it feels like ive only had it 6 months but ive actually had it almost 2 years lol.

I have 20mb too but that doesnt mean it isnt the problem, 20mb is just your download speed not your upload.

My upload is only about 0.7mb and i have noticed if theres alot going up it can effect your down speed dramaticly, try closing any file sharing programs down (or similar) and check of you have media players network sharing enabled

This may not fix your problem but its worth trying to see if theres an improvement.

Also the Areo feature in windows vista/7 does take alot of your graphics resources try disabling this too if you haven't already done so.

yeah thats true, my upload is only about 0.33mbps but my computer is using the same wireless connection and it has no probs + i even run steam at the same time. my laptop has all other programs off, windows vista has all efects turned off so it looks like xp proffessional. the "lag" isnt like normal lag, its like im going in slow motion, then it speeds up to normal then slow motion again, its just strange. my brother had the same problem with PSU on his laptop (even in offline mode) he was moving in slow motion and everything else around was going normal speed. i tried messing around with the frame skip options but this didnt help either.

i just thought of wat it reminds me of.... its like having the slow status affect permanantly lol.

i also get slight "lag" on my laptop. i have 20mb internet connection so its not that. my specs are:

amd turion 1.6ghz dual core

ati radeon xpress series 128mb mobile graphics card (with latest drivers from amd/ati website)

2.5gb ram (the odd 500mb or so adds to the 128mb gpu to make it up to about 650mb graphics memory)

windows vista 32-bit

i can play games like world of warcraft (highest settings), devil may cry 3 (highest settings), phantasy star universe (low settings) all at around 45-60 fps. i even have a coolermaster laptop cooler underneath it to get lower temps (about 5C drop in idle temp). i have tried tweaking my laptops and the games settings for quite a while but no luck so far.

the only thing i can think of is that the game may have compatibility issues with on-board/intergrated/mobile graphics cards which is quite a common problem for games.

i know this doesnt help at all but i just thought you should know that the problem doesnt seem to be caused by slow internet or not meeting the system requirements.

i played schtserv and i registered, logged in and played for a day or 2, then it kept saying i was banned wen i didnt do anything wrong. i tried to ask the GMs for help and the reply was "shit happens, if it says you are banned then you are banned, just create another account and try again". so i created another acount and same thing happened. i obviously tried downloading and installing the client again but after about a month of messing about i just searched for a new server and i found ultima which so far has been great exept for the occassional really long loading time after the auto-patch screen.

[government quest 4-1]

so i want to do government quest 4-1 (the first ruins quest in episode 1) and it says you have to open the seal to the ruins. i go through mine 2, teleport in the boss room where vol opt normally is and i appear at a corridor. there is supposed to be a door blocking the path until you press all of the totem things in forest, cave and mine but its not there, probably because i have already activated the 3 totems. so i walk through and im in ruins 1 i kill some monsters in the first few rooms etc. i go back to the principle and he tells me to unlock the seal and the girl who gives you the governement quests says that i havnt completed the quest blah blah blah. so how do i finish it from here to unlock the other quests? once the seal is gone and i can enter ruins then what do i do?

I have a shield that has 2700+ capacity, and one that has 1100 capacity, and a 447 recharge rate.

OMG nice shield! my best shield is 1682 wiv 225 recharge but sirens skillz and class mod make it 2984 capacity. class mods r funny tho, my soldier has a assualt rifle wiv 86 bulets per clip but wiv some of his skills and a good class mod i got 290 bullets per clip and my shotgun goes from 8 to 32 lol.

borderlands is an epic game and fallout 3 too, u got good taste in games vypor. i have only started playing on this server a little while ago, I tried schtserv 1st but website had viruses and it kept telling me i was banned wen i had never logged in b4 LOL?

btw i dont suppose u hav killed crawmerax? (dat lvl 61 quest boss in knoxx expansion to borderlands)i tried to solo him on my 56 siren about 5 mins ago, i got 2.9k shield and 1.1k hp and died in 2 hits!!!!!! I FAILED...badly

also, nice place, i cant wait to move into my own place in a couple years
