I ran into this problem myself, you have to add the folder to exceptions in your anti-virus program and it will work.

Don't know how to add exceptions to AVG, but I played with it a bit now I'm getting code error:2 lol. Thanks anyways.

Sorry I'm new to this, was hoping to be able to join ya's on this classic game (I own on DC and GC), I installed the downloader and registered an account, tried running and got AVG telling me there's a virus, at first I moved to vault, but started reading around the forums here and figured it was legit so I reinstalled the patch (telling avg to ignore threat). I can get the pop up menu, I click start game and I get a pop up error saying "Failed to start PSOBB. Error Code:5" Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be great as I would very much like to play this, thank you for your time Edit: I have windows 7 64 bit, I have it running under XP compat mode and under admin.
