I am pretty sure you would need the source code for the game, along with the ability to decompile, modify, and recompile it to allow the feeding of any other types of item- things which, AFAIK, are not available. The number of feedings and time between them might be adjustable, though. In fact, I think the time between feedings has already been adjusted on this server; I noticed it only takes about three and a half minutes between feedings, while on other versions I have played (Schthack server's version, mostly) the time between feedings is five minutes.
