    you can do it on VH also youre able to do it with low gear too! you just need to know the paths where to split ;)

    I mean, as much as it might be useful to get a few freebie mags, I used to be a mag breeder in my early days on this server (and on my old GameCube copy). While it would be faster, I can always pull up my old spreadsheets and breed any kind of mag I like; it'll just take longer is all.

    Besides, I've been out-of-practice too long; I need to remember how to play before I can even do anything. :onion-head13:

  2. Reintroductions yet again. What is this? The third time I've left only to come back? Somethin' like that at least.

    Long story short: My PC died a few years back and, being woefully poor, I couldn't afford a new one until literally yesterday. I've been itching to get back in the game, especially now that my new PC is oh-so-shiny and capable compared to the old clunker I had before. I've never seen a prettier PSO.

    That being said, I've been away for quite a spell and I'm pretty sure no one I knew from before still plays. If they do, I've most likely completely forgotten your name. Sorry in advance if that ends up being the case for anyone that may or may not recall me.

    Anywho, no clue what's been going down on Ultima in the years past, so I do apologize if I come across as an old, out-of-touch fuddy-duddy at first. I don't plan on taking a leave of absence again in the near future (but of course plans go awry all the time, don't they?), but I do plan on brushing up on the who's, what's, where's, why's and goings-on in Ultima in the near future. In the mean time, to any knowledgeable users feeling particularly helpful, a quick rundown of any currently pertinent events would be oh~so~lovely~! :onion-head21:

    Either way, glad to be back. Hope to catch everyone in the lobby sooooon~!:onion-head03:

  3. It's happening? And here I was hearing rumours you guys had forgotten. :P

    I've not partaken of this event before though, so I've got no idea what to do to get a hold of these new items. Would anyone be gracious enough to give me a run-down or perhaps provide relevant links? Pretty please?

  4. So here's my question, in the simplest way I can ask it: What do you do when you play this game and why?

    A little story to go along with this question, if you're at all interested:

    I came to ask myself this question a short while ago, when I was asked for help from another player in a run of "Toward the Future" on hard mode, so they could get to very hard as quickly as they could. I did, yet even though I had generously given them my assistance, they continued to berate me to go as quickly as possible, rushing through as fast as I could. Of course, they died many, many times over in their carelessness, constantly moaned about their weak gear and grew frustrated at me when I tried to save them from the claws of some horrid beast because I didn't give them a chance to tag it so they could get the experience points (even though their accuracy was so low, they couldn't reliably hit a Lilly in the caves).

    I told them "you should slow down a little and play a bit more carefully" of course only as a word of advice so they might not have to keep relying on me and my steadily dwindling supply of Moon Atomizers. They ignored me entirely, instead constantly spamming messages like "go go go" or symbol chats specifically designed to tell me to "go go go". When we (or, rather I) beat Falz, I was completely out of Moons (since they also told me not to go back for more before the fight because it would "take too long" and that they would "promise not to die") and they were lying on the floor, dead. Again. And, of course, got no experience from the fight as a result. They then became extremely aggressive toward me for not reviving them and denying them their share of the experience. They then left, without so much as a "thanks for the help" or anything of the sort. :onion-head13:

    This happens with surprising frequency, as I've come to notice. I do very often find myself being asked by lower level players (both new to the the server and old players simply starting new characters) to help them grind up their levels. Or being asked to give them better gear. Or being asked to help them farm for rare/powerful drops. In essence, just to help them shoot to the top as fast as they could.

    And then I wonder (only wonder, never ask—I'm not a callous bigot) "why don't you just do it yourself?"

    Now, I'm not saying that I wouldn't want to give a helping hand to those that need it. Even in my ponderings, I still often offer help where I can and I don't mind, really. I was there before; I know what it's like to be on the bottom and want to get to the top—good gear, decent level, higher difficulty modes. But the thing is, when I did it, I didn't try to beeline for the top. I didn't "grind", I played; I didn't "farm", I played; I didn't make a beeline for all the best gear and a level cap, I PLAYED. I'm not looking to "win" by finishing this game as fast as possible; I'm trying to have fun.

    What I'm wondering is, what's the point in shooting for the top as fast as you can? Why bother? What do you think you're going have to show for it at the end? You're going to get there quickly and then realize "welp, I've done everything I can. I'm the best (around! No one's ever gonna bring me down~!) and now I've got nothing to do." And then what happens? Well, you could start a new character and do it all again, grinding and speed-running your way to the top once more. Or you might just call it quits and forget about PSO because you've been there and done that so why bother doing it again, right? You might also do a bit of bragging beforehand about how great you are now and how pathetic all the little nooblets are (even though you were once there yourself and probably only got to your lofty status with excessive help from players far better than you—show some humility, damn it!).

    I'm not going to tell anyone how to play this game. But I do wonder why anyone would bother playing at all if they don't really want to play as much as just wanting to get to a point where they can say they "won"—max level & great items, usually by getting help from much stronger players to do so as quickly as they can. Whatever happened to the adage "it's about the journey, not the destination"? When did playing a game like this stop being about killlin' monsters, savin' the world, feelin' your power grow with every level-up, revelling in every new piece of gear you got a hold of and having fun playing with other players in a community for the sake of it—for fun—and start being about getting to the top as fast as humanly possible, using other players as stepping stones to get there while treating them like they're not other human beings trying to play a game with you? Bragging rights? Instant-gratification? Or are you just so lazy that you can't even be bothered to play a video game—which is something you usually do for fun—on your own and have to let others do it for you while you hide behind them (and then, of course, take all the credit)?

    :onion-head02:

    I'm not mad. I'm just... confused. Is this what is considered "fun" nowadays? Would someone care to explain?

    ...Anyone?

  5. Welcome back.

    I'm new to Ultima as of a few months ago, so I have never played with you. I played a few years on Scht, a few years on Eden, and in my short time on Ultima, I think it is the best PSO server. It has the right blend of events, unique properties (server-side fiddling as you say) and friendly community. I am not bilingual, but I admire that players of different languages and backgrounds are all drawn to an old but charming game. Besides, the quick chat and "internet beats" were designed with a worldwide, diverse community in mind. I am glad to see that, despite Ultima's perceived drawbacks, players continue to revisit. Really, the drawbacks are by and large due to childish, attention-whoring script-kiddies, and nothing to do whatsoever with Ultima's "management". Were you to visit a week or two ago, you would have observed a more peaceful scene (or at least have been able to log in). Unfortunately that is not the case right now, but I have full faith that Larva et al are working to bring the server back up so that we can all continue to enjoy this wonderful, nostalgic game.

    Anyway, hope to play with you sometime. Cheers.

    Edit: and while I was divining, the servers are back.

    Well met then, Jay and many thanks for the status update. Glad to know Ultima isn't completely falling apart at the seams. At least, not yet.

    With any luck, hopefully we'll bump into one-another some time, so long as my character isn't dead. I look forward to it.

  6. ...Why I've returned? Hell if I know.

    It's been a while—a few years at least. And yet I’m no better at introductions than I was so many moons ago. Go figure. I see Ultima's still the homey glitch-fest it was when I left and still so few people, including the mods, have proper english skills. And what’s this I’ve been hearing about hackers and staff-impersonators? What am I going to do with all of you? :onion-head37:

    In all seriousness though, I'm an old Ultima player returning almost exclusively out of curiosity to see how things have been getting on since my impromptu absence. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a touch depressing to see that not much has changed for the better in the time I’ve been away, but every rose has it’s thorns and in the end I’d like to hope Ultima still comes through smelling sweet enough.

    Not sure if anyone remembers me, though I’ll admit that I don’t really remember anyone from my past on here, save a scant few players (of whom I don’t even know if they play anymore) and Ultima’s owner and proprietor Larva, ever in perpetual retirement limbo; wouldn’t have it any other way. So I apologize in advance to anyone that my memory just can’t be bothered to regurgitate.

    I’ve yet to actually pop into the game itself and I’m curious to see just how well my old character has been preserved. I know there’s also been a lot of tweaking and fiddling server-side to include all sorts of new bells and whistles to the game, so that’ll be fun. Hopefully I can shake off these old cobwebs and get myself reacquainted with PSO again with a minimum of hassle after so long. But then what would Ultima be without its assorted hiccups and failing points? Answer: probably still just as ghetto as I remember it. Here's hoping it won't be too painful a reintegration at least. What kind of a homecoming would that be?

    I’ll be slowly folding myself back into the game and forums (and I do mean slowly) and being fairly casual about it all for the foreseeable future. If I can be bothered to remember how the hell you play this game again, that is. It’s been a while.

    So, yeah. How’ve you been, Ultima? :onion-head03:

  7. ~UPDATE~

    -Updated Character Inventory to include a debugged Master Raven and Centurion/Ability to replace Swordsman Lore.

    -Added a few new items, including, but not limited to, extra Centurion/Abilities and new mag cells.

    -Updated my Desireables list to re-include, among other things, Swordsman Lore.

    Enjoy your browsing! :onion-head35:

  8. Ugh....oh man......x.x

    Well thanks. :onion-head60:

    I know. Even without the glitches, 23,000 is kinda... big. Hope it goes well for you. Elision is also quite helpful, so you should let him see if he can do anything to help. He did help me when my Master Raven bugged.

    whenever you see me ingame, call me, i will solve that SJSJ issue for ya, i know hows that can be really really REALLY annoying.

    If you could give me a hand with my own SJS problem when you're available, I'd really appreciate it, Eli.

  9. It takes a cumulative 23,000 kills before the SJS will unseal. Unfortunately, Ultima is also rife with glitches that can occasionally cause the kill count to reset back to 0, essentially wiping away any progress you'd made. I'm not sure what can be done about it from us, as players, so all I can suggest is talking to a GM about it if that's the case.

    As a fellow owner of an SJS, I know how painful it can be trying to unseal the bloody thing. Hang in there. :(

  10. Oh, okay. Then Larva should probably change the Original Post which says all teams functions are 100% working :P

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Second problem
    My friend is trying to transfer the Mastership of the Clan to me. I'm already a leader. He tells me that it's waiting for a response from me, but I am not getting a prompt that suggests I should be responding to anything. How does this work? He said he cannot even exit the interface, and had to shut down the game (using Alt-Tab).
    Also, this problem is similar to the problem when we try to use the Trade Window. We can select a person, but it never prompts them, so we cannot trade. We only play within our clan of friends we know, so we just drop the items to exchange them, but sometimes I do not like this method, because items can sometimes desync, and a person will not be able to see an item that is there (or they will see an item that is no longer there).
    Help?
    Time to revive a dead thread.
    Why has this question not been answered? It's clearly rather important, isn't it? If someone could, please help.
    I'd like to know myself, since my team is having a change of command but we can't seem to upgrade any member beyond "Leader" since there's no way to upgrade anyone to "Master" without the same problem happening.
    The trading thing is also a bit frustrating, but not too hard to work around for now, so that can come after.
  11. hey what do u want for swordsman lore
    are u selling the sjs
    For the Swordsman Lore you'd have to offer something pretty good.
    I'm not considering the SJS selling at least until it's been unsealed.
  12. Still haven't gotten that replacement Raven. It's difficult to synch up with you it seems, Eli.
    I'm usually on from 7:00pm eastern time, so if you could stick around after then, I'd really appreciate it, thanks. I shouldn't be any later than 8:00pm at worst. Usually Ultima 2, again.
    Hope you don't mind. :blush:
  13. ~UPDATE~
    -Added many new items to character inventory and Hunter/Ranger bank categories.
    -Added a few new items to Force bank category and units as well.
  14. I did look at your desirables list and the G-Assassin's Sabers/Arms are on there, that's why I offered them. Please remove them from your list if you don't desire them anymore. The only other thing I can offer are Photon Drops. If that interests you what would sound like a fair price?
    I apologize. I actually don't have a G-Assassin's Arms anymore. I had traded them a while back and forgotten. So I do still actually want one, if you're still willing to offer. The PD's are also something that I'd be willing to trade for as well, of course. Of course, there likely isn't a player on this server who doesn't want as many PD's as they can get. =P So, if you'd consider trading them (and maybe the Assassin's Arms) for my Standstill, make me an offer and I'll let you know what I think.
    Or you could make a different offer entirely if you want. It's perfectly open for bartering.
  15. I'm asking on behalf of a friend who's not a forum member that her common bank have its glitched item removed, or the common bank rolled back.
    pso1305500898.jpg?t=1305500957
    As you can see, one of the items is stuck as a '????' and she has a meseta glitch happening too. She doesn't care if they need to be removed or if it can be saved with a rollback. She just wants her common bank back. She'd prefer not to have it wiped, if at all possible.
    Her character's name is Taliyah, in the first slot. Her Guildcard number is 42015869.
    ~EDIT~
    Oh for god's sake...
    Never mind. After fiddling with it a bit, I managed to get the items out of the bank and they vanished. Hopefully her inventory isn't bugged or something now, but her bank is now fixed. Sorry about that. -_-
  16. When unsealing items, bank ur other weps, and ur mags, really!
    It's a glitch and it's not unheard of with unsealed/converted weapons.
    Flag down a GM and more than likely, they can help you out.
    It was a Master Raven. And if you're referring to my J-Sword or my Swordsman Lore, neither are unsealed and neither will be able to be unsealed any time soon, due to a conflicting glitch between the Sword and the Lore that causes them both to zero-out.
    Also, if it were somehow caused by them, wouldn't it have already happened the moment I'd gotten either of them? It only glitched out the day of this thread's posting. I'd had both of them for at least a week prior.
    hoo boy sinow what were you doing?! LOL!
    find me ingame so i can give you a new raven.
    I was attacked by either a nasty glitch or a butthurt GM. Not sure which honestly.Though I have a sneaking suspicion...
    Thanks for helping me out then. I'll see if I can find you. You know my character's name, so just look for him. Probably in Ultima 2.
  17. Not sure if this sounds fair to you (dont know the stats of the shield) but I have grass assassins arms and im interested in the standstill shield. Would you want to trade?
    Sorry, G-Assassin's Arms alone for a Standstill seems a bit unbalanced.
    Is there anything else you might have to add? Take a look at my Desirables list and see if you have anything I want.
    Also, the stats for the shield is:
    DFP +163
    EVP +175
    EFR 20
    EIC 27
    ETH 20
    EDK 0
    ELT 0
  18. Uh... This seems just a little odd.
    pso1305455439.jpg?t=1305455964
    Honestly, do I believe this is a glitch? No. I think there's a GM out there who's feeling a bit butthurt and decided to abuse their mod powers like an immature little child.
    Two observations here:
    1. Percentages can only exist in increments of 5. So the 8...?
    2. The Raven, before this "glitch", was a completely blank weapon. No attributes at all. Complete zero's. I only noticed it having such a terrible hit percentage added onto it just moments before posting this. And I can assure you I KNOW it was not like this. Because I got it from the Black Paper Deal 2 quest.
    I would appreciate this being fixed as soon as possible, thanks. <_< Either in resetting the stats back to what they were or by giving me a new Raven. Because this one is now garbage.
  19. hey so how much or what you want for de rol lie shild and dragon scale????
    I have a list of items I want, called "Desireables", so take a look at that to get an idea of what I want. If you have anything else you think I might be interested in that isn't on there, feel free to offer it and I'll let you know.
