Some more knowledge for my children...... PGF changed to 1/204 on december 30th.

Also you have 1/384 as the original rate but I had it at 1/348 so idk dw

So normally it's 1/384 for all ids except a select few that are slightly lower? As in that's what it was at the start of last years christmas? I've looked throught the past forum posts and the internet archive for drop charts for the past 3 years and found nothing to even get an actual idea of what drop rates are for christmas, this isn't blind asking.

  2. This is for the people like myself, who usually play PSO or other games in general with 0 sound. But with this game there is one exception, the extremely great add-on that Soly has granted us, the rare drop sound. The rare drop sound is a little ping to let you know if a rare drops, and it is extremely helpful for the AFK farmers like myself that could accidently or possibly miss a red box.

Now for the super easy short part, go to your main PSO folder and navigate to the OGG folder which can "usually" be found at c:/ultimaPSOBB/data/ogg (C drive > ultima folder > data folder > ogg folder).

It should look like this once you navigate there if you let it install to default directory.

    folder.png

Now just right click and make a new folder and name it backup. It doesn't have to be named backup, it can be whatever you want. Now select all of it EXCEPT the custom folder and backup folder. Right click cut and paste all the OGG into the backup folder. At this point it should look like this.

    folder2.png

That is all you have to do. Now you can play PSO at normal volume and hear NOTHING. Not even the warp into lobby/into game. All you will hear is the rare drop sound.

The best part of this, if you want to hear the music again, all you have to do is literally copy paste from backup to ogg folder and it's back to normal.

LAST TIP if there is some parts that annoy you or music you dont like, you can select which parts you dont want to hear, like the warping sound to lobby and put it in backup folder, it will not break or alter the game in any way and it will only not play that one specific sound.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer.

I feel like I should add this, if you want the custom music from the lobby that the GM's play, you have to take out the songs from the custom folder, but leave the rare drop sound as such.

    folder3.png

Now if you get annoyed only by the lobby songs thats all you have to do, put the files (except rare sound) into a back up folder and they will no longer play.

People here are waaay to emotional....  I cant believe people are actually doing all this bitching and crying over a game.

People get emotional over something they care about, spend a lot of time on, and have valid opinions for? How dare they! They should know better! Just like all the angry football fans when their team lost a game, they didnt play, they shouldn't be mad just because are invested in a game! Emotionless robots is what we should all strive to be

  4. I feel like half of you are missing the point, while all great ideas, larva gets donation to help keep the server alive and also pocket money. There is 0 delusions to that, so removing incentive to get pocket money as a "thank you" for running the server is not going to stop, nor should it, period. Call me empathetic, but put yourself in his shoes. Even though I said it before, would you honestly take away the DT system aka take away YOUR pocket money? No, you wouldn't. And anyone who says so is either beyond rich or lying. So the removal of incentives to donate, removing DTs, won't happen unless by some crazy scenario where he feels he doesn't care for the money anymore. It's NOT unfair that he gets donations for the server for DTs, it's just how this partic server is, and like others commented about other servers those are free for you to go too since they don't do DTs if you hate the DT system. So I implore you to stop with the get rid of or alter the DT system, 99% chance it won't change.

The bubble happened, and now PDs are worth an all time low. It happens in the real world too all the time. Wait for christmas to be over before you get all your panties in a bunch. Cent/battles were going for 70-80 dts for some reason before summer event, then bam they were going for 30 dts and now 40-45, the price they were a year ago. STA dropped a good amount this year to those who hard hunted it, and now people won't want it as much because it's not as super rare where the same 3-5 people circle jerk it around raising prices. I have my suspicions that it will happen to PGF and dark weps, will it be fix to where it totally used to be? Probably not, but it most likely wont be this 500+ crazyness.

That would be horrible unless PDs dropped more like in other servers (where they are easier to farm).  There should be an easy way to get attributes on weapons.  Currently it's easiest just to donate.  I'd far rather see:

    1. A huge limitation on donation trading.  I'm not necessarily saying disable it altogether, but surely no more mass donation ticket trading.  This just fucks up the value of every other item in game for trades.  It's crazy that people just want money, not hard earned items.  This should not happen.  I've been saying this for a while.
    2. Increase the chance of finding a PD in the DAR so it's possible to sphere items legitimately and without cheating by spending money.

I feel that donations should be limited to thanking the ultima server and wanting to keep the lights on.  It has turned into bragging rights.  People come in and don't even hunt, but have every item in the game from trading donation tickets.  There should not be such an unfair advantage just because someone can afford to donate an insane amount of money to feel superior.

We have allowed for in-game redemption of items to add hit before.  It should be entirely possible to get the same loot regardless of whether you donate.  It becomes far more difficult when no one will trade big items without trading for donation tickets.  Frankly the simplest solution to the problem is a full on ban for adding hit with donation tickets.  That's all people trade it for typically.

Then how would you add hit at all? Just said you used to do something in the past, then suggest full on ban for adding hit with no real solution to it. This server NEEDS hit because of the buff to monsters, would you disable the buffs and make the game easy mode? Would you be willing to make a full on list of what items can be traded for hit and fully enforce it? Would you allow hit to be added with PDs?

As you said it dts are basically for hit, so what would dts be for, for those who have saved a mass amount, literally worthless? There are far far easier solutions than creating super complicated situations where backlash could lead to a lot of people leaving the server. The solutions have been said 100's of times and larva has said no (drops year round/add it back to donation list). Telling me that all the dts I have are useless after I just traded good items for it would probably make me leave.

I feel like this is the billionth time that someone has posted about prices. Here's my take.

So long as people can donate for stuff, things will never change.

Take it up with the big man and see if he'll eliminate donations. Good luck.

lol basically thought process would be "stop accepting free money from players who choose to give it to me in exhange for in game stuff" or "make the game economy decent for a game i dont play". every single one of you will chose the former if you were server admin, hands down. nothing is going to change. we all know who was the cause of inflation in january, playing pretend that you dont know wont change it.

  7. The only reason I can think of is you start PSO without your controller plugged in, but that would mean it wouldnt work still when the client is active. I have never encountered this issue in the many years i've done the plugging and unplugging. Maybe you don't have psobb launched as admin? I've only done this on Win7 and Win10, are you using either of those?

  8. There are many people who dual log or have the capability to dual log, but don't know about or how to control two clients at once. I play most games dual logging and am proficient at it in games such as FFXI and PSO. So if you have a controller you are able to control two characters/clients at once. This does NOT work with just keyboard (although you can alt tab, its just not the same as controlling two clients at once).

Step 1. You need a program such as Xpadder/Joytokey so you can map keyboard shortcuts to your controller. I've personally been using xpadder for 8 years, so i'll be using that in my examples.

Step 2. Set up xpadder/joytokey to your controller. Mine is set up to look exactly how the xbox 360 controller layout is.

    http://imgur.com/a/u2y4N

Step 3. Open PSOBB with controller plugged in and let it get to title screen

Step 4. Unplugg controller, then proceed to open another PSOBB client and let it get to title screen

Step 5. Plug controller back in and log into your two accounts you want to play as

Step 6. Map WSAD to right joy stick

    http://imgur.com/a/rHgbw

Step 7. Have the client you unplugged the controller for active.

Now I personally have the client I had the controller plugged in while starting on the left, and the one where I unplugged for client start on the right. So I will be referencing it in that aspect.

Having the right client active you can now use your right joy stick to move the right client, and left joystick to move the left client.

Now that's just the very basics of how to control two clients at once just so you can run around both characters at the same time. As you have probably noticed if you play with a controller, there are MANY unused buttons. Using the XBOX360 controller as an example, L2 (left trigger), L3 (pressdown of left joystick), R2 (right trigger), R3 (pressdown of right joystick), 2 keys of directional pad (D-pad), and select. You can map those to do whatever you want. In my examples i'll be using a Force character since that's mainly all I use as my other character.

    http://imgur.com/a/M5xU7

In this picture this is how I have mine personally set up. My L2 (Left trigger) is set to the left arrow on the keyboard, which as you can see is linked to Resta in my action bar. I also have R2 (right trigger) linked toright arrow for zalure. on the directional pads I have left D-pad to 1, which if pressed will cast shifta. If I press right i'll cast deband. I also have select as Shift f1 which gives the command for /lobby. Now these are just what I chose to do, you can do anything you want and put any of the buttons anywhere you want.

This post is not created to talk about multiplayer vs solo player, or the ups/downs of dual logging. Please refrain from discussing those.

If you have any questions feel free to ask or PM, i'd love to help you out. If you see anything that needs clarification I can also fix that. Thanks for your time.
