  1. Just to clarify, we will still be able to split right? Like if I had a weapon with 65 native I would be able to get that to 80 with 10 NYCs, then using the remaining 5 percent on a different weapon?

  2. The production quality is pleasant. It's nice to see more PSOBB content. If you end up playing the game for a long time and expanding your knowledge I'm sure your commentary would improve. I'm not sure how much you've been enjoying this server or how serious you plan on taking this game, but it seems like a good start.

    and all that took was 80 NYC

     

    How long does it take to hunt 80 NYC?

    5 NYC = 10 minutes

    10 NYC = 20 minutes

    80 NYC =  2 HR 40Mins

     

     

    So with 80 NYC profit ATLEAST 35dts = 233pds 

     

    so for 2 hours and 40 minutes hunting NYC

    you can get 233pds ( that's almost 1pd a min )

     

    The problem with this is, it's converting into % and not Pd's

    now all those hard items are easier to come by and trade for

    making the harder DROP RATE items even harder to get because all items that drop (even without stats) are easy to add stats too.

    This MAJORLY effects the economy of PSOBB

    I don't agree with Hit event either. 

    but i feel this is more broken than Pd event

    Summary:

    where does the value of our gear sit at if stats and hit are so easily able to come by?

    Value lies in the difficulty getting the item  (or in other words drop rate) and not what stats the item has?  This will make PGF /STA  (items that stats dont matter) even more expensive. Making the items where stats are important and hard to find, cheaper to make, and easier to find.

     

    What makes you think I don't understand how NYCs are profitable when I've stated it outright?

    The main reason PDs have value is because they add stats to weapons. NYC add stats too. NYC are essentially pds. You think putting more currency into the economy will increase the price of STA and PGF. I think you're overestimating how many people have lots of NYCs. The past 3 hit events added even more currency into the economy ans PGFs price has been steady. If you need proof I can show you where people were buying sta and pgf for 350 dts a year ago.

    Your assessment that value lies in the drop chance of an item as opposed to the stats it has when it drops is non-sense. Finding an item with good stats is a matter of drop chance anyways.

    Could you please keep the giant font and capital letters to a minimum? It's making this conversation unbearable.

    I kind of feel like we're going in circles anyways. You're saying the events leads to great profit and I agree. I just don't think it's as big of a deal as you do. 

    It's totally fine if you don't like events that let people profit significantly. I'm just saying that's the nature of Ultima and it's odd that you're having such a problem with this now when this is what you signed up for.

    for cheap . so you can make a 80-0-0-80  excalibur with 1 hour of hunting, but finding a excal with those stats would be NEARLY impossible and take almost thousands of runs

    It would be silly to add stats to a blank weapon like excalibur. A vet who has good stat weapons (around 50 in 2 stats and hit) will be able to max them. There's no way you'll be able to find a maxed lame d argent by hunting so it does benefit vets more.

    It actually favors vets because events only happen once a year and those are the most profitable times of the years. The non-vets struggle to keep up because they have to wait until the next event to profit at a greater rate.

I'm just expressing my opinion, no hate please

     

    Events are what this server is based off. That's what separates it from other servers. For better or for worse. All events are broken. There's super rare stuff worth a lot that only drops during events that's worth significantly more than what drops outside of the events. You could spend 100 hours hunting lame d argent outside of events and not profit that much, but if you put those 100 hours towards hunting event items during events you'll likely profit significantly more. That's the way Ultima has always been. Happy hours polarizes this even further (for better or worse).

    Eh even then no. I would rather sell 9 NYCs for 5 pds each then buy one for 9 pds. PDs add %s to weps anyways. I suppose if no one is buying (unlikely) and someone is selling it's better to get some value from them since they could end up being valueless if an event like this never happens again.

    I'd rather buy a new Xbox 360 controller every few months than use a ps4 controller. I can't stand them lol. Maybe I could try to my arcade stick. I'm imagining how bothersome it would be to reach to a keyboard with an arcade stick on my lap haha.

  10. I use a wired Xbox 360 controller when i play this game. Unfortunately the A button stopped working and when i took it apart I saw the padding is broken and seems unfixable. So I'm in the market for a new controller. Any recommendations for something simple and reliable? I want an analog stick so a ps4 controller would be out of the question.

    Playing on a GC controller would be cool for that nostalgic feel, but when I asked my friend about using a USB adaptor he said it can be unreliable to get set up especially if I wanted it to work for all PC games. Ergonomics is important to me too since I have hand pains.

    I've considered playing on keyboard, but the movement always seems slow and wonky to me. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but when I try to turn around, I get this awful turn-around animation.

I still think a V80X unit should increase battle speed as well as casting speed because getting anywhere close to maxing MST+ATP+ATA+Luck on FOnewearl and FOnewm is out of the question unitless and those classes are meant to cast spells, but you can't be too effective soloing on this server only casting spells and therefore you have to battle too. 

     

    If people are worried about an item like this being too good then I'd suggest limiting it to only FOnewearl/FOnewm since they really need it. Although I think it would be fine for all FOs and would lead to more class diversity server-wide.

    What about putting different commands to reset the mats consumed of the characters?.

    1 per Pow mats, 1 per mind, 1 per evp , 1 per dfp etc maybe like /matcount 1 for pow, /matcount 2 for mind and etc.

    that would be cool and could save us some money/time on re-hunting the mats or pds for buying again the mats because all of them had to be thrown out because of a single one you've eated by an accident.

    also another idea is, how about putting the ID cards on the donation list? maybe 20-25 dts for one,

    why i say this? because some of them are really nearly impossible to get, i know there are 1 or 2 that drop with chaos sorcerers in ep 2 iirc.

    That would be nice. I know had some mat plans for characters who I knew I would never get custom mags for in the past due to the price so I made the plans with 5 defense mags in mind. Now that PPP mags exist I feel like I need to start over a lot of them >.<

    Anothing thing to point out, the DAR reduction rates in the topic are no longer relevant, they were increased (aka made better) a while ago.

     

    I was looking for that thread. I appreciate it Soly. Just to confirm, since Olga's DAR is 100, if playing with two players using individual drops there would a 67% chance of anything dropping and if something drops, it would have a 1/186 chance of being PGF or 1/62 chance during hh? 

    Therefore, between 2 players the chance of one of them getting a PGF would be 2/(186*1.33) or about 1/124 and would therefore be more efficient for this type of hunting?

     

  14. Can someone explain the exact individual drop system in detail please? After spending hundreds of hours PGF hunting mostly solo or with a friend using shared drops it's come to my attention that I probably shouldve been using individual drops instead. I've also heard that you have a better chance of getting the item you want with 3 players instead of 4. Can someone please provide some clarity? :"L

    I guess this could help explain why some people got multiple PGFs.

    Why not make a PGF give away for the ones who didn't even get one this whole event. give away 3 in random ways and the only way to qualify is if you don't have a PGF already.

    Of course changing the rate makes a difference. Items dropping at difficult rates is a fundamental part of this game. This drop is just out there since there are only so many hours in a 3 week period which means a lot of people will end up not getting it no matter how much they hunt. I understands that Larva doesn't want everyone to have dark weapons, but either way people who really want them will get them. If people are willing to spend 500 dollars they can get a dark weapon. You see dark weapons constantly anyways because a lot of the people who couldn't get a dark weapon after sinking hundreds or even thousands of hours into the server got discouraged and left. Having more in circulation keeps players coming back since they have something to work towards versus the way it is now where people get too discouraged having to wait another year to attempt to reach a possibly insurmountable goal.
