  1. I use the Xbox360 controller because you need no adapter for it. I did find that my computer (which is XP) wouldn't automatically setup the 360 controller anymore (because MS is trying to get people to go to the crappy Vista) so I looked on youtube and they have a few videos showing you how to set it up. One guy gives you a link where you can download the software needed if you are running XP. Just hit that link to download the software if you're running XP. Vista should still setup the controller automatically.

To configure a 360 controller (or 3rd party 360 controllers)

You click your Left analog stick to bring up your menu then go to

"Options" then "Pad Button Config" go towards the middle of the list you'll see a button for "middle"

highlight it and press A then A. for the "top" button hit A then Y. For the "right" button hit A then B. for the "left" button hit A then X. for "menu open/close" hit A then the start button. for the "camera" hit A then Left bumper. for the "palette" hit A then the Right bumper. Now your 360 controller is configured to work like on the Xbox version.

note: your menu can still open by clicking the left analog stick. So in the heat of battle you may click it on accident so don't panic.

  2. yep all screen shots for the night time forest are all taken on ultimate, but since i don't quite know if you take the forest 2 files if the game will crash, just to be safe it would be advise to take all a back up of the forest files before you attempt it.

something i should have done myself before editing the files :onion-head57:

    Current skin projects:

    Poineer 2 remastered skin

    Rico and Flown ID skin

    Momoka recoloring skin

I used the forest 2 files only and went on the ultimate difficulty and forest 2 didn't change at all but forest 1 everything changed but the sky. lol

  3. I'm pretty sure the rare monster rate is the same in normal and hard, but personally I see a lot more rare monsters when I do max attack 4 on hard mode. So if you feel like you have terrible luck on normal, you can go ahead and try hard instead.

I was going back and forth between nornal and hard because I seen drop charts with them on both.

  4. thats meant to happen for the forest skin as i only intended it to be an ult skin only, then again i didn't test normal - v.hard but assumes it covered it due to doing may ttfs (which starts you in forest 2)

So you're saying that the screen shots of forest 1 are from the ultimate difficulty? I didn't try it on hard but it did the same on V.hard. Would it be alright if I just used the forest2 files or do you think it would crash?

  5. I've been playing a while now and Photon Crystals are the hardest thing to get. I play a lot of ep4 and I've only gotten 2 so far. I go where these drop charts tell you to go and still no luck. Could it be my section ID is crappy for finding and enemies dropping Photon Crystals? Is there a quest thats spits these out on a regular or something?

  6. You need to do the Black Paper 2 quest.

    Single person mode, Hard Difficulty.

Don't forget to take a Photon Crystal with you, cause otherwise you won't be able to do it.

Thank you Vypor. I actually found that out after posting this thread. I was doing Black paper 2 but was on the wrong difficulty setting. I'll have to level up a few more levels so I don't run out of time before killing everything.

  7. Yeah I'll wait for the pics. I don't want to do it and find out I don't want to use them. I know I can place the originals in another folder but why go through that.

  8. Dang, I wanna retexture my RAcast. o:

What do they use to do that?

I wanted to do my own too but after trying to read and understand how its done I quickly changed my mind. The HUD and retexured item boxes is just dropping files into your data folder. You have to use like 3 or 4 programs to convert and open files so they can be altered. Here where they have posted a lot of what other people have been doing from the Schthack server.

  9. I found this buried with another skin for the crates. If you download this file and throw it in your data folder it will make all your item boxes like like rare boxes but keep them the right color. So you're Armor and shield boxes will still be blue but have the rare box style to it. The same goes for your weapon and monomate and monofuild boxes. This was made by Ravage2008

Heres the page it was buried on. It has photos so you'll see what I'm talking about.

    Ultimate - level 100

    Episode IV

  11. Welcome Toran

I think a lot of us are from the pay-to-play days. I was actually on the Dreamcast when it was free to play PSO. That was back when you signed up Seganet they were giving you your money back on your Dreamcast and giving you a free keyboard to boot. I scratch my head til this day why more people didn't give Sega and the Dreamcast any love. I couldn't go back to the PS1 after seeing and playing Dreamcast games. The Dreamcast had some many AAA titles I couldn't buy them all. It was crazy.

I was mainly a sports genre player until PSO on the Dreamcast came along. I had both Dreamcast versions. Only version 2 now. Plus Gamecube and Xbox versions. I also have PSO PC. I was on PSO PC until I bought a better graphics card.

  12. If its a wired Xbox 360 controller (as the wireless ones don't work for the PC) you'll have to configure it to work like it did on the Xbox version.

  13. The old PSO versions didn't really have a main story. It did but you got it by doing Hunter Guild quests and hitting those beams of light coming from the floor spread through out all the levels. You could just go through the Forest, Caves, Mines and Ruins and all you had to do was talk to the Principal after defeating each level's boss. The catch was if you didn't talk to the principal after defeating a boss the next level wouldn't open up.

After defeating each boss and talking to the Principal you unlocked more Hunter Guild Quests.

In Blue Burst you now need to do government quests in order to unlock more and more Government and Hunter guild quests. You'll notice all the levels are open in Blue Burst but you only have 3 Guild quests and one Government opened to start with. Each level has 3 or 4 government quests when completed open up more and more Guild quests.

To do Government quests you'll need to make a room (with a password if you don't want people jumping in and out of your game) and keep the "Play Mode" on "Normal" and hit "registration". Go to the Principal and talk to the girl on your left and she'll give you your opened choices of government quests. when you're done with your quest go back to the Principal and talk to him.

To do Hunter Guild quests you need to make a room and set the "Play Mode" to "One Person". Its up to you if you want to enter a password or not but nobody can join your game anyway when it's set on "one person". Go to the guild counter and select "Main Story" and those are your hunter guild quests. After finishing each of these quests go back to the person you talked to at the begining of each quests and they'll let you know its okay to collect your reward.
