  1. Also, now that there are no events, I think we need to have a discussion of permanent drops for Olga Flow in very hard and ultimate. Obviously this means getting approval from Larva. I would love to see Dress Plate, Antidark ring, Antilight Ring, Rianov SNR1-4, and several other unobtainable items in the drops.

Agreed on giving Olga some non-event drops. It would also be nice if it could be reconsidered about making solo-mode Olga invincible. At the very least, outside of PGF events. As it stands, running solo-mode Seabed is pretty pointless and since it takes longer to run than Respective Tomorrow, what's the point of making him unbeatable?

  2. Another interesting thing in PSO is the red weapons belonging to Red Ring Rico. Rico seems to have been a HUmarl (female human Hunter). The red weapons are supposed to be her palette of weapons, and there's other equipment of hers as well.

    Red Handgun
    Red Saber
    Red Sword
    Red Dagger
    Red Slicer
    Red Partisan
    Red Mechgun

Each weapon has different letters inscribed on them, and the completed set spells out "Heathcliff." The weapons are also reflective of what a hunter can equip. For some reason the Red Mechgun is ranger-only, which IMO is a mistake by Sega since Rico was obviously a hunter.

There's also the Red Ring (best shield in the game), Rico's Earring, and Rico's Glasses.

The Dark weapons are copies of the actual weapons Olga Flow uses against you in the final battle of Episode 2, created by fusing remains of his DNA with "normal" weapons.

Surprisingly a lot of people don't know this, but if you defeat Olga Flow with the final hit being from a "Red" weapon, then return to the boss area, you can see what appears to be a freed Heathcliff Flowen's soul. Approaching causes him to disappear or move-on. Similarly, defeating Dark Falz with the final hit being from a "Dark" weapon, and returning to the boss area will let you see Rico who will also disappear upon approach. Either of these has to be done on Ultimate difficulty.

  3. I'd forgotten about all the PSO stuff that was added to PSU later in its life. The Forest, Caves, Mines and Ruins, as well as Boomas, Goboomas, and Gigoboomas being added. And Delsabers were rare enemies in the Ruins, and Dark Falz being the final boss to replace Dulk Fakis (or whatever he was called). There was also little easter eggs, like if you looked straight up at the sky from Forest, you could see Pioneer 2 above you.

If I recall correctly, those 4 pso missions/levels were "rare" and would only appear at certain times/events, but I can't remember the story behind why. I do remember there being "VR" missions that were also based in those pso areas that included "VR" character versions of Dr. Montage, Kireek, Sue, etc.

I can't remember now, but it seems like Sega was attempting to bridge the stories of PSO/PSU, and elaborate on what exactly happened after the events of PSO, but man that was so long ago and I was already having trouble keeping interest in PSU when all this stuff started happening. And while this info comes from outside of PSO, I think it should be considered when attempting to learn all of PSO's story since Sega really did try to add onto the PSO canon via PSU.

  4. If I'm not mistaken, Flowen was infected with the "Del" virus. It comes from Dark Falz and alters creatures into dark, "Del" creatures. The Dimenions in ruins are mutated Booma type enemies, and Delsabers may have been the bodies of the hunters from Pioneer 1, hence the shield and sabers and their 3-hit combo (their faces appear on the ground when Falz appears) and Del Rappies are mutated rappies, etc. Del creatures are also possessed by Falz and follow its will. Flowen was slowly being converted into a Del creature, and I believe that Dr. Osto attempted to save him using the Olga AI, which somehow ended up merging with Flowen to become Olga-Flow (he's basically a souped up, giant Delsaber). Olga was one of the three AI's brought to Ragol by the crew of Pioneer 1. Olga, Vol Opt, and Calus. You dispatch Vol Opt yourself, and you help Elly save Calus.

I can't remember much else right now, but there's also the whole subplot involving Kireek, Sue, Bernie, etc. I think I recall something about the government on Pioneer 1 knowing about Dark Falz being on Ragol, and it secretly being their plan all along to go to Ragol for the purpose of freeing Falz.

  5. It seems like there aren't any disadvantages to playing on "normal" compared to playing on "one person". So kaiyuss, I would suggest just making a passworded "normal" room to play solo, that's what I do all the time. "one person" is only needed for specific quests such as black paper.

For your specific problem of playing seabed solo in a public game and not being able to get passed the multiplayer doors, there's nothing you can do about that. The map/path/doors are not always the same, so its possible if you remake the room that you could get lucky and not have to go through any multiplayer doors to get to the end (I'm not sure if there would always be a multiplayer door).

Like you said, it's probably faster to go throuth RT to get to Olga than it is to go through seabed, so why not just do RT runs to hunt for master sword?

I understand your frustration because I play solo a lot as well, but I dont see this as a big issue since it's only one area and one boss that you are unable to do. Especially when that boss doesn't drop anything except during events and you could just do RT runs solo to hunt for those event drops.

Because I don't really have uber equips, and with all I have going on, the only time I can play is while I'm at work (some times requiring frequent/sudden afk's). Solo mode is easier because it's actually made for one person (something the game originally supported), and RT (while doable) will frustrate me more than it's worth. I'll continue to solo and just deal with not being able to hunt Olga.

  6. hmmm.... what's your equip? maybe i can advice you a bit

Dual Bird 30hit, rest 0's, Spread Needle all 0's, Bringer Rifle 30hit rest 0's. I also use FS or SQ for some mobs.

My only real problem with RT is Gal Gryphon. I mean, I can get through an RT run, but it's not exactly a solution. I just don't see a reason to leave Solo Olga the way he is. It seems sorta pointless, especially when I can hunt any other boss in the game in Solo mode.

  7. if olga is invincible in solomode ( i guess you are talking about one person right ? ) just play in multimode alone ...... and you could solo olga pretty easily this way ( especially with ramarl lol ....but even all hu/ra as long as your have a zalure weapons on racast/racaseal/ramar/hucast/hucaseal ) just build your pb from last chainsawd of seabed, cast twins then use zalure and high atp weapons and you got it, it's nothing hard

You can't reach Olga in multi-mode if you're alone. There's doors all through seabed that require two people to open.

going with high native hasn't done me wrong yet ^.^ But olga doesn't like it too much, goes absolutely crazy when you hit it with non-tech attacks. LOL

How much Native do I need to damage Olga? I've hit him with Cannon Rouge while buffed with Shifta 20, and while he's been debuffed with Zalure 20, and nothing but zeroes. Have you tested this yourself? Ultimate Solo mode Olga doesn't seem to take physical damage, period.

  8. ok, there seems to be alot of misconception... olga doesn't become "invincible". Go in there with a mechgun with good native and it will overcome the pesky damage reduction it has ^.^ I had to learn that one the hard way.

RAmarl, max ATP. J/Z/S/D all at 20, and no weapon does damage. And Olga isn't native...

  9. Open two accounts, and go to fight. Solved.

Make another account, AND level it to Ultimate? Then I have to lower the settings significantly to run two instances, and using a controller will control both characters regardless of which window is in focus. Not exactly a solution imo lol. I mean, Sega did go through all the trouble to include a separate solo mode for an online-only game and it's kinda useless to players who actually solo...

  10. Larva intentionally made olga impossible in single player mode so that characters are encouraged to work in teams for PGF hunts in December. This isn't a bug.

It's not impossible, it's just way more difficult than it needs to be. I can solo RT, but I'm not supposed to complete solo-mode (which takes even longer to reach Olga)?

I can accept that I'll never get to hunt PGF, but does that mean I'll never be able to hunt anything Olga drops, year-round too?

  11. I'm wondering, is it intentional that you can't solo mode Olga? He's invincible to everything except techs, meaning that unless you're able to kill him with Foie (before running completely out of Di and Trifluids) you can't complete Ep2 solo. Why is this? I don't get to play psobb much, and when I do it's from work. That means I have to go afk, sometimes every few minutes. This is the only way that I get to play, and it sucks that there's so much in this game I just can't do because I solo.

Is there anyway this can be fixed? It doesn't seem like it would be game-breaking to allow us to solo-mode Olga, especially considering it's still going to take as long (or longer, depending on class) to reach the end of Seabed 2 as it would to RT in a party.

  12. Turning it into a shot and toning down it's freezing abilities isn't that bad of an idea. Glad to know someone is actually thinking, and not completely disagreeing :onion107:

However... It would require redesigning the weapon and it may as well be a completely different weapon from the changes. Doesn't seem likely.

Or what about keeping it a rifle, no combo, and make it fire a spread of 3 Snow Queen shots with handgun range. Fires at the same speed as Snow Queen. I'd say raise the ATP by 80, and grind to +10. Keep the ATA the same as snow queen.

Snow Queen definitely needs some kind of upgrade, and like I said, it could still sorta fill that ENORMOUS gap between Baranz/Needle and Dark Meteor. But this way, it only fires in three shots, piercing yes, but only at handgun range. With no combo, I don't think it would be broken, especially when you consider that it costs 100pds to make, and then more if you add %, and keep in mind Hit would also be important so you're only get to add to two % Types.

The upgrade would be worth it IMO. It would retain the Rifle appearance, firing speed and freezing ability, so the only downside would be a lack of range. I think that would be pretty balanced.
