Phantasmal world 4 episode 2 normal mode:

This is probably the single most useful quest for getting these items. Aside from having vending machines that always have star atoms, trimates, monomates, and sol atomizers(although at a higher price than normal, but for monomates it's still pretty reasonable) all the episode two mini-bosses drop star atomizers. This is not only usually my one stop shop for filling up on all the things the shop doesn't always have, but also is an easy way to get your mag synchro up as you do the run. Between your inventory, character and common bank you can hold 30 of each of these items, which can get you through when the shops don't have them for you. If you regularly use star atomizers because you are a cast or because you like to keep your mag synchro up this quest will save you a lot of meseta.

Power Plant Plight episode 2 normal mode:

This is by far the best and fastest way to get star atomizers as a group, especially on individual drops you can fill up and entire party of people in the first couple of rooms. It is not available if you are alone(although you can dual log) and you can't pipe out to take them to the bank, if you and some others need to fill up your star atomizers this will get it done for free in just a few easy minutes. I mean this quest is almost entirely episode two minibosses, almost everything here drops star atomizers at a high rate. 

TTF ultima episode 1 normal mode:

This is a really good spot for filling up sol atomizers and trimates. I noticed it from material hunting and have used it since then to quickly fill my banks up for those times when the shop doesn't want to cooperate. In the first room the gigoboomas drop sol atomizers and in the second room the hildebears, there is plenty of each but may still take a couple runs to fill up completely. This one isn't exactly the greatest but I will still use it if all I need is sol atomizers, it is free afterall. 

Sorry in advance that I don't know a really good way to get free trifluids however if someone out there has a way I am sure many of the people on this server that play force will thank you for it, just being a cast all the time it's never something I've paid much attention to. Hope this can help some people out

1.  Download Lumos .. https://github.com/Seph29/Lumos-G1

2. Download Reicast by searching.for it and apk. Install.

3.  Download DC binaries.  Any on google should do.  Open Reicast and choose dir for it to search binaries.

4.  Download Rar APK by searching mirrors.

5.  Open and Unzip it into folder that Reicast is looking.

6.  Download PSO iso/rom and unzip it into folderlder where Reicast is looking.

Play.  Search google for a working Serial/Access Key.

Also; you might need an Apk installer.  SPK Installer be good enough to install Reicast and your Rarlabs.

lastly, this Lumos Input is for Android tablets G1.

Scrolling on the internet made me discover a program called Lossless Scaling that can simply add AMD Frame Generation to a game that doesn't support it natively.

So I did some tests on PSOBB, stuck on 30 fps since it's original release, and believe me or not, but it works like a charm and since then, there is no going back to native 30 FPS.

This method is stable and has been tested, I haven't had any problems with in-game crashes, not once.

Step 1 : Download LossLess Scaling from Steam (not anywhere else as it may contain viruses, please support the developer of this amazing program) https://store.steampowered.com/app/993090/Lossless_Scaling/

Step 2 : Run it, and copy the settings I use  (I'm using the Default profile but you can make a custom one pointing to psobb.exe only) : 

Step 3 : Adapt your settings depending your configuration, turn off HDR and G-Sync support if your screen doesn't support theses techs, you also might need to adapt GPU & Display output if you have more than one screen. Be sure Capture API is set to DXGI, feel free to adjust sharpness as you like if you are using FSR. If you have a weak GPU, you can turn on Optimised Version.

Step 4 : Run PSO on Windowed Mode or Virtual Full Screen (not exclusive)

Step 5 : Go back to Lossless Scaling and click 'Scale' on the top right corner.

Step 6 : Go back to PSO Window, wait 5 sec for the program to scale PSO.

Step 7 : Enjoy PSO at 120 FPS.

TL;DR : Lauch Lossless Scaling, click Scale, and go back to PSOBB window.

Notes :

If you're using HDR support, be sure to turn it on in Windows settings before launching PSO and to calibrate your screen using the Windows Calibration Tool.

This soft do not modify any of your game files and only trigger the API the game is using (in that case, Directx8)

Please also note that HDR support double the usage of VRAM. 

You are not obliged to turn on the FSR, you can use the scaling you prefer.
DLDSR for Nvidia users will have MUCH better results than FSR, just google it, it's included in Nvidia 3D Panel fyi I'm running the game in 1440p upscaled to 2160p using a RTX4080 Super but a much weaker GPU can achieve the same results as me, PSO is old and runs on everything. Remember to set the upscaled resolution in Launcher.

As I said in the title, you can achieve more than 120 fps by choosing a higher mode in the Frame Generation section. This comes at the cost of more visual artifacts depending your resolution.

Exemple for a 240hz screen : Set mode to custom and set the value to x8 (30x8=240).

If you have a 60hz screen, set it to X2.

Turning on V-Sync seems to reduce tearing by a lot too, I suggest to turn on this feature in the software but keep it off in Game Launcher Options. I have G-Sync enabled in Nvidia Panel too.

X4 seems to be the best choice overall

Some issues I noted in my testings :

- Mini map might flickers when player camera moves
- Minor slowdowns from time to time
- Few visual artifacts on texts when the camera moves, much less visible if you set it to X3 (90 fps).

-Frametime a bit increased using Afterburner graph but not noticeable at all in game using controller or keyboard.

Don't hesitate to share your feelings or personalized settings if you think there's definitely still room for improvement.

REMEMBER THAT IT'S NOT PERFECT AND WON'T BE AS GOOD AS A REAL "NATIVE" 120 FPS, BUT STILL, THERE'S NO GOING BACK TO 30 FPS AFTER YOU TRY THIS.

I'm playing a RAmarl and I just hit level 101. I looked through the shop to find some weapons with hit% on them so I don't miss, but even using those I miss regularly and do basically no damage.

Is there some gear I'm missing like I can find on very hard or something that'd make it doable? Is there a solution to this without requiring help or gear from someone that's already level 200? Because I'm sorta trying to play mostly self-sufficiently.

Like what would recommended gear for me to find in order to be able to do Ultimate? I tried charge weapons but I'd need to find a charge weapon with a high hit%. So there's that I guess, but I don't think even that'd be much damage at this rate.

We both went back and checked the pillars 3+ times, all of them activated, but the doors won't open. We went and checked all the pillars in one playthrough, and killed the Mines boss again, but still nothing. Only the green forest light. No blue cave or red mines.

How on Ragol do I open this door if the pillars and boss aren't working? Is it bugged? Do I need a GM's assistance?

UPDATE: I was able to solve the issue. It appears that activating the pillars during an expedition (no mission start, just selecting a zone) does NOT work for the quest. In order to open the door to the ruins in 4-1, the pillars MUST be activated during a Government mission.

The key to this is 1) setting your native resolution 2) disabling GPU power management 3) enabling multi-thread support  4) enable FXAA

While I'm thinking about it, set your CPU power save mode to High Performance or Balanced+Max (if you don't have a High Performance option; ex. laptop, home...)

Specs:  Win10 Pro ; i7-2600 CPU ; 16GB RAM ; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti ; 2560x1600 60Hz "2k"

The sluggishness and skipping you may have seen isn't your PC, probably.  As many have pointed out the game is 20 years old, what gives?  Yes, exactly.  It's GPU Power Management (below).  You've been watching the GPU speed up and slow down throughout the game and watching the throttle lag.  Enabling multi-thread support dropped my GPU usage by 1/4 and after that I'm still searching for settings to turn to maximum with the new gains.  Setting your native res will give you "4k" (or whatever you have) and FXAA will enable AA (fixing the jagged lines on edges) in a game (this game) that didn't support it.  If you're on a laptop or tablet cool it -- point a fan at it; your CPU and GPU can "turbo" / not "throttle for longer with the cooling gain.

Ultima PSOBB Launcher: Display

• Resolution: Custom (Probably; so you can key in your native resolution;  find this number under Display Settings in windows) -- This will unlock "2k" or "4k" etc.
• HUD Scale: (150; set to your preference) -- This is a setting for me on "2k".  Once you set your game to a higher res the hud size becomes comical.  This will fix that.
• Damage Text Scaling: Disabled [unchanged; not sure what this is]
• Color Depth: 32-bit [unchanged]
• Window Mode: Virtual Full Screen [recommended;  this setting looks like "full screen" but is much more stable] -- this setting prevents the game from crashing when you Alt+Tab or the like.  If you set "UAC" to "don't dim my desktop" you can avoid another crash that has shown up recently when you open new programs that require "admin" while the game is running.
• Word Wrap: checked [unchanged; not sure what this is]
• V-Sync: unchecked [haven't needed this]

The goal is to achieve max stats in certain attributes. These stats are divided into:

• ATP (Attack Points)
• DFP (Defense Points)
• MST (Mind Strength)
• ATA (Attack Accuracy)
• EVP (Evade Points)
• LCK (Luck/Critical Boost)

In Ultima server every class have increased Max Stats Boost compared to vanilla PSO, that means old max stats plans made for vanilla PSO doesn't work on this server, since there would be an huge gap until reaching the max stat using the old plans.

Ultima Boost: +100 ATP, +100 DFP, +100 MST, +10 ATA and +30 EVP boost for every class.

That being said, there's a possibility you won't be able to max everything from certain classes (and it's not really needed to max all stats) due to material slot limitation. It is standardized to max ATP, ATA, LUCK (to achieve maximum accuraccy and raw melee attack power) as a priority for melee based classes, and/or MST, for nuking and force classes respectively, and lastly EVP and DEF when necessary and possible.

Generally DEF and EVP aren't very important stats, so these stats can be ignored in most cases as armor and barriers will take care of protecting your character. EVP is interesting for increasing the damage output of certain Photon Blasts like Estlla (final damage output also counts the Synchro and IQ percentage, that means 120% Sync and 200 IQ is needed for maximum damage/buff/heal). DEF is important to decrease the final damage you are getting, discounting Deband and Jellen level, very useful for players that uses sacrificial weapons like Excalibur, Heaven Striker and Dark Flow.

There are some classes can only have maxed stats by using special custom mags (obtainable via Donation, Mini-Events or using a Console/Ashura Mag Cell) that can reach stats normally not obtainable with standard feeding charts. Otherwise, you will need a PPP Mag (a 0 DEF mag that is a reward players get from completing Power Plant Plight - Episode II quest), useful for replacing the 5 DEF points with more important stats.

⚠️If you use a Console/Ashura Mag Cell/Ultima's Engine!/other mag cells on a PPP/Default mag that doesn't have all 3 Photon Blasts, you won't be able to add new PB's to the said mag, as it will not evolve anymore after becoming rare (green/yellow name).

• Kit of Mark 3 (refer to this website to understand how console mag evolution works)
• Ashura Mag Cell is obtainable as a random item from Easter Eggs and Christmas Presents
• Ultima's Engine! is obtainable on Anniversary Event as a drop from specified bosses

There are multiples builds for each character, depending on your preference. Generally it is more efficient to choose for plans that requires less Units, so you can use other interesting units that may improve your gameplay (Centurion/Battle, V801, V502, Smartlink, PB/Increase, Centurion/Resist etc.)

Recently installed the mod for item reader/monster reader etc, the player reader works fine but whenever i enable monster reader my game crashes. Also item reader doesn't work (main reason i installed)

Can you use photon spheres or drops at paganini to upgrade the non-hit %s once its a dark weapon still? For some reason i recall someone warning me you can only add %s to dark weapons through dts. Maybe they were just talking about hit. 

Also, is hit essential on a dm even if you capped your ata? Is it just always needed on a dm?

Is there a combination of %s that is particularly useful?

Dm has to be transformed from a shot right? Can you transform from rare shots or just orange boxes?

What Are Lua Add-Ons?

Lua Add-Ons are scripts that can read arbitrary memory from PSOBB and present it in a 'readable way'. It allows players to read information about monster dropped items, their inventory without highlighting the menu, read banks without going to the Bank Lady, monsters Health Points, player coordinates, how much time until next mag feeding is available and much more.

Is there any risk I could be banned by using those Add-Ons? Are they considered cheating?

Lua Add-ons can only read game memory, so it doesn't have enough control to hack the game in any way. All of the currently released Add-Ons are considered safe to use on Ultima server, usage of them are not considered cheating!

1. Requirements

You must have Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 installed, accordingly to the version of your Windows.

Download here.

Choose the x86 version of package.

2. Installing Eidolon's Add-Ons Plugin

Download Soly's PSOBB Addon Plugin here (bbmod.zip)

The original Eidolon's version can be found here (bbmod.zip). Outdated, does not work with some addons 

Note: Soly's version includes changes to support the global theme editor and the timer addon.
These changes will (hopefully) eventually be merged into Eidolon's main repository but until then, they are available with Soly’s version.

Open bbmod.zip, extract the folder addons and the file dinput8.dll into your PSOBB folder. It should look like this now.

Both things mentioned must be placed in the Ultima PSOBB directory. This is what enables the Lua Add-Ons to run through PSOBB.

You can run PSOBB to check if everything was installed correctly. If you see a menu like the one seen in the picture below, well, congratulations! The first step is done, you installed the Add-On. Now you can proceed to the next step, which will explain how to install the useful add-ons that will enhance your gameplay experience  

If your game is crashing right after launching, make sure you installed the correct version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.

3. Installing Add-Ons

Download Soly's PSOBB Addons Here.

Extract every directory into the newly installed addons folder in your PSOBB directory (you can ignore files like .gitignore, LICENSE and README)

Note: All addons are installed more or less in the same way, but some might require a custom version of dinput8.dll, in such cases, it will be noted. This might cause conflicts if multiple dinput8.dll versions are created for different addons so until they are merged into the main version of the dll, you will have to choose the one that fits better for the addons you want to use.

Your addons folder should look like this:

If you have placed every folder in the right addons directory, you should now have 4 windows inside the game client itself, they are Main, Monsters, Player Reader, and Character Reader. When you run PSOBB with add-ons for the first time, you may want to resize and reposition them using mouse cursor. Drag title bars to your preferred place, resize add-ons by clicking and dragging the tiny white triangle located on bottom right corner of each window. If you close Main Menu accidentally, press ~ (tilde) to reopen the Main Menu.

4. A little introduction to Character Reader add-on

One of the biggest attractions of Add-On plugins is undoubtedly the Character Reader. Using it, you can read your inventory, bank (both Common and Character banks, depending on the last loaded bank when talking to Bank Lady NPC) and floor (dropped items on the area you're in). You can also check your inventory mags only, mostly used for feeding purposes.

It is possible to save a list of the current loaded items by clicking on Save to File button. The list will be saved at addons/Item Reader/inventory/date_saved_inventory.txt.

5. Other add-ons

Soly's PSOBB Addons

• Theme Editor - Global theme editor, changes the style of all the windows of the plugin, currently it requires Soly’s version of dinput8.dll.
• Item Reader - Allows items present on inventory banks and floors to be read.
• Monster Reader - Shows each monster specific HP and displays a HP bar in an ordered list.
• Player Reader - Shows the Health points, current Shifta/Deband/Jellen/Zalure level and Invincibility trigger timers for each player present in the party specific lobby players.
• Timer - Timer and Stopwatch, the stopwatch has a split function, all actions can be performed with hotkeys (customizable in the addon options). This addon requires Soly’s version of dinput8.dll.

Esc's Chat Log Addon

Shows the chatlog in a separated window from default PSOBB Chatlog Menu.

Staphen's Kill Counter Addon

Tracks statistics on number of enemies defeated in PSOBB. Can be customized to show how many times a specific monster has been killed.

Tornupgaming's EXP Bar Addon

Adds an experience bar displaying the ammount of Experience needed for the next level up. Can be resized and combined with some custom HUDs like Echelon's ones.

Seth's Coordinate Viewer Addon

Displays player's x, y and z coordinates.

6. Other interesting features and troubleshooting

a. Some add-ons are crashing randomly/while exiting game

While Exiting Game (logging out) from the PSOBB Menu, there is a probability some of the add-on tools are gonna crash (and perhaps even the Main Menu). To fix this, open the Main Menu (if it was shut down, press ~ (tilde) to reload it) and click on the Reload button to re-enable all add-on windows that were closed upon logging out.

Note: If you want to help the developer of the addon, you can open the log first and take note of any output on it related to the addons that crashed and post them in the topic.

b. Changing and saving add-on windows positioning. One or more add-on windows positions were saved and got stuck in a border/corner.

Open the Main Menu, click on the button corresponding to the add-on you wish to change settings, make sure the Enable option is checked in General section. Check the following ► contractions to change a few options, you will find a Position and Size settings to mess with. You can use one of the anchoring presets or alternatively specify an exact X and Y position you want the add-on window to load (accordingly to the current resolution of your PSOBB window)

If your anchoring is not Default, the X and Y act as offsets from the anchoring position

You can also specify the Width and Height of the corresponding add-on window or set the window to auto resize (if available), which will make the window as small as possible.

Make sure the Enable option is checked on the corresponding add-on.

c. Changing other options

Some addons offer the options to customize the windows even further.
While on the Main Menu, click on the button corresponding to the add-on you wish to change settings. You will find the following options:

No title bar: Hides the colored title bar present on the top border of add-on window.

No resize: Prevents the resizing of the window from the bottom right corner, if available, you can change the window size from the Position and Size Width and Height options.

No move: Prevents windows from being dragged, if available, you can change the window size from the Position and Size Anchor, X and Y options.

Always auto resize: Makes the windows resize to fit their content.

Transparent window: Removes the window’s background color.
