Ideas to improve the server - feel free to post!

I fully support the DPP (drop per player) idea. The ONLY reason I end up hunting alone about 90-95% of the time is because im guaranteed the item im hunting for if I continue hunting it. I also dont have to "call" a drop and feel bad for it, and I also dont have to put up with someone else "calling" the drop (which then there is no point of me even doing the run).

Idk about you guys but playing solo is sooo boring. Sadly, most people still solo even though it is mind numbingly boring at times. Thats because its the most efficient way to hunt an item.

Phantasy Star is a game that is based on teamwork and playing with others. I enjoy playing with other people much more than doing solo runs. It makes runs go by smoother, and makes them also less boring.

Of course if DPP were activated, I certainly dont think every player should get the same drop. I feel like every player should have their own rate for the item, and each of them get a drop whether its meseta, monofluids, or an event item. So what if 1 person gets the event item and the rest dont? Adding the DPP system will help those people who can't normally solo the quest on their own actually have a shot at some items. Which in return - means less donating to buy the said item and a step towards fixing this crazy economy.

Im sure there is something these smart GMs can come up with about dual logging for unfair advantages ;) but all in all I HIGHLY support this idea.

Firstly, I got the one drop I wanted from this event so I don't care about the drop rates to be completely honest. So long as I get 1 of whatever I need I am not so greedy that I 'have to' farm like 6 more of every item. I will just exchange gear between chars if need be, but that's just me.

Secondly, I don't see an issue with people who choose to dual log. Some people prefer to hunt on their own without the 'assistance' of random people in their games. People who want to solo hunt, and dual log with the correct IDs for certain drops shouldn't be punished for wanting to do this. Maybe certain people who dual log can run faster than opposed to dragging lower levels through TTFs or RTs or w/e missions people are doing. Some people would rather do things on their own, and that's something ALL of you need to remember.

I'm not gonna quote Fyrewolf, as I don't want a huge wall of text, but I fully agree with what he's saying. I do primarily play solo, but that's largely a reflection of how I like to be in general. I tend to keep to myself. When I do reach out and engage in multiplayer, I do have a lot of fun with that, enough so that I don't really mind discussing who gets what drop (usually when I'm hunting with someone, I'll let them take the first one, and ask them to help me get my own). I do like the current system, and think that a lot of the ideas for tweaking the drop system are good ones. The suggestion Midori just posted would actually encourage me to come out of my shell more often. The main thing I think I'd ask for is a way to transfer items between accounts without dual logging. An in-game mail system like in WoW, or an out-of-game inventory management system like I've used in Diablo 2, might be starting points.

I agree, I like to run alone sometimes just cause I like going at MY PACE and not being rushed along by other people.

Please stop trying to push punishing dual boxing, or even the idea of it. A lot of people would quit over it, on top of making the game become infinitely less fun for a lot of people. Just because a lot of you like to play with others and are trying to encourage teamwork, not all of us want to play with others. There has to be two sides, not just one track of thought.

The thing, either solo or multiplayer is better. It's one or the other. Currently, solo is best, which is a bad thing because the majority of players prefer multiplayer. It is an online game after all.

If things are changed, and multiplayer becomes better (partially because of a new rule that bans/limits one person using multiple accounts at once to get more rare items), this would be good overall because the majority of players prefer multiplayer.

Just because multiplayer would become superior to solo doesn't mean that solo is suddenly impossible. You can still solo if you want. It just won't be as efficient as multiplayer. Don't you think it sounds selfish and unreasonable for someone to demand that solo continue to be superior to multiplayer in an online game?

This is an online game with many players. The best decision is doing what is best for the community overall. If most players prefer multiplayer over solo, then the game should probably favor multiplayer over solo. If you think I am wrong about this and most players actually prefer solo, you can argue that. Otherwise, you come off as sounding selfish. If you are that adamant about solo play, why are you playing an online game in the first place? I just don't understand. It's like going to an orgy and masturbating in the corner.

Don't you think it's selfish to push out every single person who wants to play alone? Suddenly if you want to solo you'll have to lvl every single ID on the best solo class just to even play. I'm done talking about it, you think the game is online that it should be multiplayer that's you're thing. But forcing everyone to your ways and changing the actual base game (how PSO was literally created) to fit your ways is selfish.

If this were to take place, people who want to solo could still solo. It would be like nothing has even changed for them. Same rate. I may even solo every once in a while, but I will for sure be doing more multiplayer runs than usual.

Just the fact of being able to play with people and know that you are guaranteed a drop, regardless of whatever happens, would be a huge improvement. I think it would encourage people to meet others and bring the community together on top of also fixing the economy.

Just saying, but on Ephinea the Pso2 Dropsystem is optional – you can choose either classic mode or pso2 mode before you create a room. If it then would be possible to only block players with the same IP adress/MAC adress from entering a Pso2 style room, I think it would pretty much solve the problem. That way, players could still create classic mode rooms to transfer their items or to solo hunt by dual logging the right ID (f.e. if the are not enough players around or simply if they prefer to solo).

I think this solution should please everyone. I don't know if it's possible development wise, but it would be amazing. Please make something happen, Pso2 Dropsystem needs to happen no matter how. :onion-head72:

@Izaya Exactly.

@ryukin It is not about pushing dual logging away or whatever. Dual logging can still exists imo without any problem.

But if such a thing as drop per player was implemented, well it has to be a real drop per PLAYER not drop per CHARACTER. If you see what I mean.

Basically, you could still be dual logging as much as you want, but you would only have one item. (or you could dual logging only if you're not choosing pso2 drop system like Izaya said)

But forcing everyone to your ways and changing the actual base game (how PSO was literally created) to fit your ways is selfish.

Note that there were no such thing as dual log in the "actual base game". pso was mainly about coop and ultima might be one of the only (popular at least) pso private server which allow dual logging. Just saying. Edited by Misombre

Are you taking about PSOBB, or PSO? On the Gamecube, I played offline primarily, but I'd plug in two memory cards and several controllers and transfer items and hunt with ID's that way all the time...

If you wanted to play solo, its super easy to set up a private server to do so. I fail to see how this isn't a viable option for those players. And if we were being selfish like you clain why would we care if they left? We don't play with them.

But we do care, thats why there is this discussion.

can we have a jukebox?

I think the casino looning lobby would be perfect for this.

Also, make the posting wait thing be independent of threads. . ___ .

Nothing about ultima is more annoying to me than having to wait 280 seconds to post my theory about rag rappies orgins because I told someone I wanted to buy their item.
