Playing via Steam Link

I've added both psobb.exe and Launcher.exe to Steam as non-Steam games but when I try to launch them via a Steam Link in another room, the game crashes immediately (no time for the "Now Loading" screen, just straight back into Big Picture mode. Running the game directly on my PC via Steam works just fine so this specifically seems to be an issue with launching via Steam Link.

 

Has anyone else run into this problem and knows a way around it?

 

I could get the game to launch if I go into a Desktop view on the Steam Link and then open psobb.exe directly, but then there's no gamepad passthrough which would be no good.

Sorry to bump but I made some progress. Setting the game to Fullscreen (and not virtual full screen) lets the game launch on Steam Link. Press A on the gamepad will bring up the main menu, but I can't select different menu items from there. However, X on the gamepad will close the menu back to the "Press Enter" prompt.
