Individual Dropstyle adjustment and new rules regarding Multi-logging

Recommended Posts

In order to promote multiplayer games on Ultima, Individual Dropstyle DARs (Drop Anything Rates) have been increased to the following:

1 player: 100% => 100%
2 players: 80% => 93%
3 players: 70% => 90%
4 players: 60% => 88%

However, Guidelines have been updated to prevent abuses:

You are no longer allowed to use multiple characters with Individual Dropstyle enabled in order to get multiple additional drops for yourself.

From now on, if you want to use multiple characters in the same active room, Shared Dropstyle must be enabled
Type /dropstyle 0 in the lobby before making your room for that purpose.

You are allowed to use multiple characters on Pioneer II (bank, feeding, trades and transfers purposes) on any dropstyle.

You are still allowed to use multiple characters for quest rewards farming (Christmas Catastrophe, Raid on Central Tower, Power Plant Plight, Harmony of Despair I etc) or multiple leveling (Central Control Area etc) but Shared Dropstyle must be enabled when doing so.

Exceptions:
Using a second character in the following quests for support tasks on Individual Dropstyle is still acceptable (as you will get kicked if you can’t control them), as long as other room players agree with it:
- Realms of War (we currently consider enabling drops in this quest)
- Simulator 2.0
- World of Illusion
And quests that require an individual ticket to play:
- Harmony of Despair II (Ultimate)

And obviously, any quests that do not involve item loots are also excluded from those rules (Gallon's Shop, The Beak's Cafe, etc).

Violating those rules and abusing the Individual Dropstyle can lead you to Game Master warnings, disconnections or bans (if intentionally repeated offense).

Of course, we are all open-minded: if you are seen using several characters in an individual dropstyle free roam Forest for example, everyone can guess you are obviously not trying to exploit the system and there will be no problem. So no need to worry about that. Just don't think about abusing PSO2 dropstyle anymore.

The new rates, as well as rules, are open to future adjustments.

Thank you for your understanding and have fun!

Did you mean"as long as other players agree with it" ? Not trying to be a stickler, just want to make sure i understand it. : x

I definitely appreciate the changes. It really started feeling like it was duo or bust before. More 4 man runs in the future now :D

How do the drops affect multiple clients in the same game? Anytime I had multiple characters only one could get items the rest had 0 drops even throughout the entire map?

If you used different devices (such as 2 computers), you could get drops on all characters as long as the host's device was different from the other players'. So what was 60% on all players becomes 240% on a quadlogger.

And also, if you have a good computer, you can run multiple Virtual Machines so with one device you can quadlog and enjoy 240% droprate. Maybe it was also possible with VPN, who knows...

Anyway, I didn't know until few days ago that multilogging was such a thing and a problem for the server but now I do. I think it's the right decision, a good breakthrough / step forward.

This is the kind of improvement that keeps me playing on this server.

I hope the future looks bright for Ultima.

Love you all. ❤️

I would rather say that Instead of having 240%, The quadlogger had "4 times 60% chance". Meaning, 4 chances that a monster could drop anything with a 60% rate, In which It was possible that either

-none of them 4 characters,

-1 out of 4,

-2 out of 4,

-3 out of 4,

-4 out of 4;

could get a drop.

[personal experience: It was nothing rare that none of them 4 characters couldn't get anything. (I assume that's because each monsters have their own DAR, too, with the weak ones who spawn the most, generally, with the lowest rate), while It was very rare that 4 out of 4 could get something.]
