brylon
Hi everyone, So, I've been struggling with this seemingly common problem, but with no luck solving it. I have tried many fixes that other threads suggested, but nothing has changed the outcome. To clarify, the issue i am facing is that I cannot play the game because it will not stay open after clicking start from the launcher. From the launcher, clicking start will open the game window, as a black screen, and then after a few seconds, it will close itself. I have seen many people suggest changing the resolution, and other settings. But, i have tried every combination of resolution and other settings and none of them have helped. I have tried reinstalling. Video drivers are updated. I have tried several other things as well. Any thoughts? Here's my dxdiag DxDiag.txt Quote Link to comment
Fyrewolf5
So 99% of the time, it is a resolution error when this happens (momentary black window then instant close). There is a possibility however, that it could be a DEP (Data Execution Prevention) error instead. You can try to add pso to the DEP exceptions. There a number of ways to reach that, but you can go to Control Panel > System (or right click my computer and go to properties) > Advanced System Settings > Performance > Data Execution Prevention, or you can search in the start bar for data execution prevention as well. Then you can choose "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" and then add pso to the exceptions. 1 Quote Link to comment

I believe I have tried this with the psobb.exe Quote Link to comment
Fyrewolf5
Might as well try both. Quote Link to comment
