So I'm just a little curious what you guys did when you first played Pso on the game systems when online was no longer available.. Well here's what I did:)

from scratch I'd do the run through of the forest but not kill the dragon, I'd then go through all of the forest quests, and then go through dragon and kill. Then pretty much the same through out all areas. Go up to boss, do quests, kill boss, repeat in the next area. After that I would then go to ep. 2 and go through the areas (being you can't do those quests in offline on game system)...

when I wanted to make me seat I would do a run through of v-hard ruins because I wouldn't really use any mates or meseta so I'd gained like 200-500k meseta a run... Or I'd go through the mines.

if I needed to gain a few quick levels or just do runs I'd also do that on VH mines or ruins, generally the mines because I could go through that in like 25-30 mins where ruins was like a 45-60 min run for me...

ummm for my mags I used a few I only played as 2 characters really a RAmar and HUmar so my mag stats where 12/138/38/12 for my RAmar and was a sago with twins, snake, and pilla. I'd then use a rati that was 5/145/50/0 for my HUmar that also had the same PB... I don't really know why but I personally had to have my mags bars completely full so I would do star atomizers to raise up stats and fill up those damned stat bars.

weapons I'd end up using vulcans and stag cutlery for my HUmar and my RAmar I had a M&A60 Vise, Varista for fall, and I used a Arms...

I also have a FOmar but I don't use that memory card anymore and those are on GC my other two characters are on my xBox...

welll that's all I got, I think? Tell me what you guys did?:3

PSO EP 1 and 2 on the OG xbox was awesome. I was hooked on the game. I had a  Hucast and Fomar I mainly played. I had weapons I had obtained online but doing ultimate solo was a bit tough. But I did a lot of soloing. I too would go thru all the different quests for the Forest and Caves. On the XBOX online mode every weapon was practically duped and had stats like 127/127/127/127 and 127 hit, something crazy. Every weapon. That quickly took the fun out of the game sadly but I kept recreating characters and trying out different classes. I have always been into raising mags and I remember when I made my first rare mag and it was a Deva. I did some hardcore hunting but usually I failed miserably.

After the XBOX server and Gamecube servers had both shut down I imported PSO Blue Burst, I had no clue what i was doing. Not a clue but somehow I was able to register and I remember being on crater and Pazuzu and Dorphons destroying me. I still have the PC game box Blue Burst came in. I can remember being like 13/14 years old and trying every option to get the game to run, still amazed I did. I eventually managed to, but never really knew what weapons I had other than by the look. I remember Kusanagi and Black/Red Odoshi Armors during an event and I couldn't get either for the life of me. I also feel everyoone wanted the Blue Odoshi VIolet Nimaidou. That was on the JP server and eventually the US/EU server opened and I played on that. I seemed to solo a lot. Still do. But yet again, both servers were shut down.

In 2006 Phantasy Star Universe came out on xbox 360, so I migrated to that and really enjoyed it until I saw how the JP server was better with a lot more content. Throughout all this I was playing Phnatasy Star Portable Vanilla and Phantasy Star Portable 2. It took me some time to get onto Ultima but after the original XBOX servers shut down Well history repeated itself, and thee PSU servers were shut down but Phantasy Star Online 2 was available. I participated in the Open Beta but I always seem to have issues running the game now on my new computer.

Some years ago I found Ultima and have come and gone. Have 2 characters on PSO2 but there's something about Blue Burst, Thankful for Ultima, for  real.

I swear I have spent thousands of hours on pso-world going thru all the items and guides when the servers were shut down. Like a teenager addicted to porn. And eventually the same with Phantasy Star Universe and looking at psupedia.

I went off topic, my ADD got the best of me. The servers got shut down but I never could let go of this game.

I was very young when I played on GC.

At the beginning I wanted to grind my character only so I could reach a decent level to play with my brother/cousins/neighbours because they were all playing PSO but were too high for me.

So a friend lent me the game and my cousins gave me their GC for my birthday but at the end, I've never owned the game x)

I had a weak Humar with the worst ID possible : Greenill (found many hundreds of Wals/Visk/Justy) with almost all 250 materials used in EVP ...

So I dual logged with my brother's Ramarl, not for SD but for ID, but it was a real pain to play with shared screen ...

When I reached Ultimate I was like "woah, those new monsters looks *_* " and played temple to see what the others look like as I couldn't solo Forest.

Then I grinded and grinded ... and for a long moment I was spaming only ultimate Ruins to boss for levels (my worst moment was when I just killed Falz, my brother shut down the GC by accident, dropping a chopstick on the power button xD)

My main stuff was a charge vulcan, last survivor, aura field, 4 hero/ability (found by pipe tricking lilies), delsaber's shield and rati.

My mag didn't even have twins so my only SD was the lvl 3 rati triggers ... it made a huge difference as I used the vulcans most of the time.

I figured I really needed a S-red arms, was dreaming everyday finding one so I made another char, a whitill Racaseal but I didn't want to waste my time leveling her so I uses the multi-equip glitch to grind fast until ultimate Mines, then I hunted S-red ... which was a pain too when you consider there is like from 1 to 5 sinow reds per Mines run in offline one player ... (was disgusted I couldn't play online with LSB quest :p) but at the end .. I found it ! My best achievement I believe (1/573) ... right before I had to give the game back to my neighbour :(

I've watched some video on Youtube and I literally fell in love with the Tower area ... I wished I could at least download the East and West Towers to play them offline ... I did CCA and sticked the left wall trying to find a bug to enter Tower (yes I was really silly xD) ... Tower is actually the reason I started to play online on Blue Burst.

In about 1500 hours of game, I was only level 180.

But I've been playing on 50 Hz and didn't know it slows down the game a lot (like you play permanently with a slow status).

I started back on Gamecube. I remember because one of my Dad's friends, Nick, came over and brought PSO with him, he left it over here to let us play it. I think after he came back years later and saw how much progress I put into the game he decided to let us keep it. I was hooked on it from day one.

Been here ever since.

Ah man you were 4 when the DC version was out?  That makes me feel old.  I played version 1 on DC when I was like 14.  Got a purple HUmar up to level 100 since that was the original cap.  Had a decent selection of weapons but didn't know anywhere near as much info as we all do now haha.  I did buy version 2 (first one with ult and level 200 chars) but I got it preowned and the previous owner still had an account registered so could only play it offline going forward.  This would have been about 2001/2002.  Never touched the game since but I did buy PSU on PC a few years back.  Only played the offline story mode though.  Randomly found this place while looking into how to get my DC back online.  Turns out playing here is much easier :P

I originally played on the DC when the V1 game first came out in 2000. I was 13 years old I think. I remember buying it brand new from Toys R Us as a birthday gift when my Gma took me shopping. At first I was super hyped about online play, so the first thing I did was attempted to sign up through the browser disc and actually long on. Of coarse this was 56K dial up, so that was a slow process, and whenever someone called in on the phone I got kicked lol. But it was so much fun playing with others back then.

But, I remember completing every quest I could until I needed to complete an area and then rinse and repeated. My highest level character on V1 Humar lv100, eventually but it took awhile. After that I tried FO, then eventually Ranger. Neither reached 100 before time had passed me and the game up altogether. Many years have passed since, but this game always stuck with me as a part of my child hood. I never played on the GC however. In the last 8 months or so, I was feeling so nostalgic that I ended up buying a brand new DC. I had a burn rip of my game and started playing at night offline just for the fun of it.

I heard that there were some severs still active on the DC, but not many people. Maybe 10-20 at most, but usually 0-4 people on at anytime. I was so excited that I researched how to get me DC back online again. Unfortunately I do not own a home phone or a line, but I do have DSL broadband (who doesn't right). Apparently back in the day they did a limited release of Broad Band Adapters made for the DC, but not many were sold in the US, and the servers went offline shortly after so it quickly died. I went searching for one, and found one on Ebay for like 200.00 dollars. I said FCK IT! and bought it!. Got myself a sealed copy of the V2 from Amazon and a web browser disc, along with a Server Boot Loader disc for Schthack for DC and even a Keyboard for DC! So I spent multiple weeks and hundreds of dollars to make this happen. IT WORKED! I was online AGAIN! It was so amazing....Then...I found BB and this server which is relatively.....free lol....So, my new DC and costly BBA sit at home in my gaming center while I spend my time playing this version. Wish I would have known about this before I spent all that time and money, but hey I have it whenever I feel like putting my hands on a real DC controller.

Played V1 online on Dreamcast. Had level 100 Foney and Huney iirc. Maybe Humar too.

Played GCN online, I have I think a level 135-150ish Foney and a level 170ish Ramarl and lots of lower level guys I used to pipe units

Played BB on Sega servers, had a level 140ish Huney and that might've been my only real toon.

Played Schthack off and on from 2008-2011 or 12 I think. Had level 200 Foney+Fonewm, 170ish Ramar and 170ish Huney

I got pso v1 on launch day when i was in middle school. Had fun with family and friends then it consumed me. Eventually I started using action replay for the dreamcast and hacking all the items and mages, PKing people with resta, freezing people in cities casting grants on them (including yourself). There was also the NOL where you took a specific item out of your bank and it turned the respective player into an NPC called NOL and they lost everything. 32k IQ mags that gave invinc for hours. Fun times, first game that I spent 1000 hours on one character. Those online days were the funnest and the best, lobbies would be spammed with massive chat bubbles or people talking in colors using page break. People having unlimited creation on the symbol chat gave for some interesting pictures... Never found the SJS legit until april of 2016 (this year) which was a long dream of mine. 10/10 would do again
