Small game window after update (XP)

Recommended Posts

Hello people.

My game was ok up to the update.

After the update it started to open in a small window (running by online.exe).

I already tried different configurations in options, but does not solve.

When open by launcher.exe it always give an error, no matter what I do.

System is XP.

I already added an exception in antivirus.

Please help ;)

Thank you.

The launcher won't run on XP.

Right click and "save link as..." this link -> Link

Open with a text editor like Notepad++

Change the options based on the comments in the file.

Run it.

Open the game and see if it worked.

It worked, thank you!

But, what is these options?

;00000001 = Enables custom hotkeys
"Hotkeys"=dword:00000001
;00000001 = Enables custom textures
"CustomTextures"=dword:00000000
;00000001 = Enables custom models
"CustomModels"=dword:00000000
PS: I still prefer the older version, this new version only brought me trouble.

I hate to say this but gotta deal with it, XP is already discontinued, won't get (security) updates and in general sucks compared to w7 and above.

The options you mentioned.

Hotkeys lets you use some custom hotkeys to switch palettes on the fly (Alt + 1~0), Hide the HUD (Ctrl + V), Control the camera independently (Ctrl + C, not available for users yet)

Custom Textures lets you use a custom item textures file, if you want to use custom textures.

Same with custom models.

If the custom texture/model files don't exist, the DLL wont enable the option.

There are some posts about this here

Ok.

Textures and models does not interest me, but custom hotkeys interests...

I activated it but could not manage to work, ALT+number only makes my char do some animation moves.

If you can, can you tell me how to use it?

Thanks.

About XP, it serves me well for my work and my simple games.
It is simple and direct.

I like it, but I'm aware of that too.

Well, I guess you have a point.

I'm sorry, the Alt + Number does work, but since you can't use the launcher, you cannot customize them, lol.

I'll try to do something about the support for XP in the launcher soon.

The other hotkeys right now are

Ctrl + V: Hides or shows the HUD

Ctrl + M: Toggles the (mini) map. This will be available tomorrow.

Ctrl + C: Enables camera controls, so you can move the camera around. I don't know when I'll make this available yet.

Edit:

Scratch that, I'll upload a new launcher in a few minutes. It works in XP.

To edit the palettes, right click the options button and click palette manager.

Then in game you press Alt + Number and it will import the palette.

Note:

Remember that the palettes match the number you press (the palette 0 will be the Alt + 0)
