You know what we need?

A rare to DP converter. Someone that can break down the weapons into raw energy and reform them into PDs!

Like 10 rares of any kind = 1 PD
or 5 rares of the same kind = 1PD.

Something to do with all those insane amounts of rare drops to make them worth picking up. It would also help prevent them from being devalued through excessive drop. And promote trade..

That's not quite a good idea. A bad rare that's very easy to get that anyone can get effortlessly shouldn't be worth anything. I think there could possible be an improvement to trading, but it would likely be complicated to implement.

Well as far as devaluing PDs, you could easily adjust those numbers to be 20 or 50..etc. Most people sell many of those weapons for like 1PD to begin with, so to trade 20 of them for 1 means youre only getting 1/20th of the rate. Imagine having to stockpile 20 of the same. So for every 100 you find you get 5PDs? Youre telling its harder to find 5 PDs than 20 identical rares?

Yes of course then it would result in trading your unlike rares with someones like rares (Trading an A for B so both could get 20+ like items). So it encourages keeping and trading of lesser rares. Then you just have to adjust the ratio they are worth. 50 for 1 pd? 75? If they are made stackable this would become more practical.

if some rares are still too easy to get, too easy, just up the drop rates on them to make them actually rare instead of just 'calling them rares'

Certain quest rewards were removed due to exploits, such as pds and some good items, peoples would spend days just doing them to get stacks and stacks of pd, if you go on 1/2 rate drops i'm sure you can get lots of them in no time. The idea is good if it was a server with higher drop rates, like that peoples would use and abuse the system.

(for peoples that filled their banks with zanbeacons in 1-2 hours)

There's no amount of number tweaking that would make this work. someone could get 100 identical rares in <30 minutes right now with rare monsters on. even if it was 500 identical rares for 1 pd that would still be really ridiculously easy. Even the items were really rare and the conversion rate really hard, would still get pds just from the kills as random drop pretty often. PDs aren't exactly a super rare thing to find as a random drop. If anyone goes out there and hunts a lot they will find pd drops; they get more than enough of them, even if they don't bother trading/selling any of the stuff you find, they'll end up with a few dozen pds in a month of good hunting. If anyone really wants to specifically try to get pds, they can do ROCT right now for cent/battle hunts, as that quest still gives a pd reward more often than not, or there are tons of not too difficult hunts for good tradebait to sell to players. PD's go pretty far on this server already, really not a good idea to have something that would devalue pds, especially that drastically, it would only make it way harder for new people to trade a handful of pds for some nice things. pd drops are already common enough.

For the love of all things digital then, turn down the drop rates on things, just a tiny bit. I had a TTF run the other day and 3 'rares' dropped before I got to the dragon..

Especially them bacon swords ;P

Maybe certain rares could become tradable for a pseudo currency that can be traded in another shop (quest) for some common items like materials, medium level tech disks, grinders, etc.

Low star rares would be worth only 1 point, and depending on rarity it would be worth a bit more points.

But it should be thought through as low rares are very easy to come by as mentioned by several people in this thread.
