I'm from germany and too old to reveal it (then again most nostalgic players should be arround my age). I'll give some silly answers to made-up question for the sake of self-portraying now, you might as well skip to the next section! What versions did you play before Ultima? Only on a different PS, sadly. I wanted to play GCN, but the payment was handled so ignorantly, that I could never get my own Hunter License. So sad. Playing on PS solved various childhood traumata for me l0l I did a lot of multiplayer derping with my room mates a long time ago though. What are your favorite classes? HUnter: HUnewearl. HUnewearls are nice to have (I dun like their edgy outfits though). RAnger: Elenor-chan RAcaseal. I started the game using the class with the highest DFP and they sorta grew on me. FOrces: FOnewm. Being a clown is fun. What do you like best about PSO I really like how you can pretty much pause the quests by staying in a cleared room. That and the equalty among the different classes. What do you like the least aout PSO Gifoie, the animation is frikkin annoying. Do you have a fond memory related to PSO? If yes, what is it? Nothing in particular, but when you look at your equipment and know that the majority of it only got available because you and your friends had fun, that's really nice. Are you n00b? Or a gudd player. I think I got massive downs. Ok and that's that. I also got some newbie questions on my own: 1. Are there any significant differences between Ultima and the original game, that I should be aare of? Of course a PS usually has self-made quests and whatnot, I mean like, Idk, is there a unique class or something? 2. Is there any capital mistake I can make as a newbie? 3. Are there a lot of german players around here? Can I hab german team? 4. The game rules say that hacking is bannable. I'm fine with that. Do skins count as hacking? Basically there is no difference..just unique server items and stuff like that..and as u said..quests etc. 2. capital mistakes: the server was under attack lately..dont make the mistake to take following items from other players who might be hackers (Parasetic gene flow, Sonic team armor, proof of sonic team, black psycho crystal) but theres an other topic for that i think. just zap through the forums. 3. there were some germans among us who arent that active anymore or at all, but there are some. but mostly from uk,usa,mexico,spain,brazil (please dont judge me..just what im aware of )..i dont think there is a german team..that team would be small and not very effective, as in helping each other..more player..more help..BUT..u can make your own team. 4.Skinning PSO is no hacking. it has nothing to do with the server actually. modding the skins is all bizz of your computer. There are definitely some differences between Ultima Server and Vanilla PSO, but if you never played Blue Burst edition before you are going to find a lot of vanilla differences there as well. Blue Burst is the PC only edition that includes episode 4 and added in a lot of significant items to the game. As for Ultima specifically, there are definitely some changes from vanilla to keep the game fresh and interesting for old players. This includes : - Stronger Monsters in Ultimate Difficulty : The monsters in ultimate have buffed stats, they move faster, hit harder, dodge more, and take less damage. The jump from very hard to ultimate on this server can be a little rough, but there are plenty of people around willing to level up others. - Boosted Experience : By default, the experience rate on Ultima is x3 exp up to level 160, and x2 exp from 160-200. Just last night they turned on a x5 experience event. This applies to players of all levels, so it's really good for players above 160, but will certainly help you out as well. x5 often coincides with major events, but can occur without them as well, it usually lasts anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. If you don't level enough during this one, don't worry, it comes around every few weeks. - Increased Rare Monsters : By default there is a higher appearance rate for rare monsters over vanilla. There is also occasionally Rare Monster Events where the appearance rate is further boosted x5. Rare Monsters Events can occur at any time, but also are often turned on a few times during major events. This also lasts anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks, and comes around every few weeks. Usually when it is on they will give everyone a colored name in the lobby, but the current Green Names signify the Summer Event, rather than Rare Mobs. - Happy Hours : When you see a scrolling banner that says "Happy/Rush/Crazy/Delicious Hours have begun!", you will know it is time to hunt. Happy Hours are x3 drops for 3 hours. Every 30 minutes another such banner will scroll with the remaining time. Also the lobby is changed to have pink sakura trees and a red and white striped flag in the back. Happy Hours occur several times per week, especially during major events. The times for Happy Hours, Rare Monsters, and x5 exp are random, they turn it on whenever they feel like it. - Events with New Items : There are many different events that happen on Ultima. Mini-Events can happen at any time, both in game and on the forums. These have ranged from Trivia Events (Banner asks a question, answer is password to event room), collectables (such as bring 99 specific items for charge s-ranks event or max 75 hit baranz 2pcs=1 hit event), Word Search Events (post image of completed search on forums), Add Specials to Weapons without them events (such as the very popular Serverus Event to add specials to Yasminkov series). Major Events are scheduled every few months, and have limited time drops and new items added to the game, and sometimes some monsters are buffed. At the start of major events no drops or rates are known, but towards the end of the event they reveal all the monsters which drop and the rates, and often make it easier for the last week. Currently Summer Event is ocurring, which drops Psycho Black Crystal confirmed from Redria/Bluefull Morfos (use on Master Raven to make Psycho Ravens, very high atp mechguns for male hu/ra), Centurion/Battle confirmed from Skyly Epsilon, Whitill Dark Falz, Oran Kondrieu (unit which gives 110% attack speed, highly sought after), Trap/Search confirmed form Viridia/Greenil Baranz (unit which gives permanent trap vision, fairly easy drop rate), Blood Sword confirmed from Pinkal Saint Milion (regular ep 4 boss, 1000 atp spirit saber for forces), and Soul Booster confirmed from Redria Gibbles (returning item from easter event, use on Excalibur for 100 Souls, a 1000 atp spirit excal for all classes. was made to replace blood sword since that is single target, but excal is 3 targets). After this event there will be Triforce Event, Halloween Event, Aniversary Event, and Christmas Event still this year. - Increased Maximum Stats : Every char on ultimate has had their max stats buffed, they can get +100 ATP MST DFP, +10 ATA, +30 EVP more than they could in vanilla. Base stats are unchanged. Maxing characters is a little trickier than on vanilla because of this. There are some german players around, a german team may be possible, but it would be small. 4. Skins are not hacking, but there is also an npc command to change your character into various other models, including the bank/guild lady. This requires that you have hair option 1 selected on your character, or you will crash and have to use the dressing room to change your character in order to log in again.
