  1. Not media center. Just plain Windows XP Pro with SP3. And to be honest, the system was perfectly fine and stable before. Still "no dll". You're not using any intel-specific optimizations / instruction sets, are you? (Such as SSE2) This is running an AMD Athlon XP 1600 CPU. We need some way to debug this... some kind of way to catch were and why it's failing to load. Event viewer yields nothing.
  2. Reinstalled Windows XP from scratch. Still "No DLL"... doesn't matter where or how I install the game, or how I launch it. Whatever is going on, it isn't my system. For some reason, PSOBB just isn't loading properly. I can get into the menu, enter my account details... but cannot connect of course. EDIT: Installed Schthack PSOBB on the system to see what would happen with theirs. Loads fine, DLL loads, everything loads, and can connect fine. Since I'm guessing the client dll for Ultima is made in Visual Studio 2015, it may be a shot in the dark, but could one of the devs check to see what the "Platform Toolset" is set to in the solution's settings? Might want to make sure it's one of the v###_xp variants.
  3. I am going to do a clean install of XP and see what happens.
  4. Event Viewer turns up nothing. And I'm using standard US English. No language packs. Nova Scotia is an English speaking province of Canada.
  5. By hand, burned to DVD. Done this several years back. I may have a genuine CD of Home SP2 sitting around somewhere, I may reinstall from that and see what happens. If I can find the bloody thing.
  6. Using a CD with SP3 slipstreamed, but a legit key.
  7. Uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared the pso-related registry entries, everything. All Visual Studio Redists are now installed, still nothing. Still getting "No DLL".
  8. It is 32-bit. I can't even install 64-bit on here anyway, since it's not a 64-bit CPU. I am also using the latest drivers available for my hardware. Does it make any difference that I'm running Media Center Edition?
  9. No antivirus. Pretty stock install of Windows XP SP3. Running on an AMD Athlon XP 1600, and an NVidia GeForce 6200 GPU. All well within the recommended requirements for PSOBB.
  10. Just recently, my Windows 10 gaming PC had died. So, I decided to install PSOBB on my older Windows XP machine. For some reason, the launcher doesn't seem to apply the resolution settings correctly (though all of the other settings apply no problem), also Virtual Fullscreen doesn't seem to work (might just be a limitation). However, the biggest problem is that the game fails to load the DLL. I get "No DLL" in the bottom-left corner when the game is running instead of the proper "Ultima ver 0.13", and I cannot connect / log in to the server. Just sits waiting at "Connecting to the server, please wait...". I used to be able to play this in XP, so I don't know what happened. Does the DLL have any external dependencies? Like any specific Visual C++ Runtimes, or anything of the sort? EDIT: This is a fresh install too. Using the latest installer from the site. Running on Windows XP SP3, fully updated... and running .NET framework 4.0.3 as well. Dunno if that helps.
