Heya! I was born in Kazakhstan, but have german roots. And, luckily, my family was able to move back to Germany. Grew up in Bremen (the one with the animals as musicians), and now living in Düsseldorf. Unfortunately I don't come close to playing online any more, since real life wants its share :-/ But maybe, there will come some days, when I'm gonna chill out in the mountain range and enjoy the sunset again. I'm sorry for the general skewness of the screenshots. I still have not figured out why the hell my computer makes them this way. The neccessary information is recognizeable, though. Here we go Soi Fon (gc: 42123472) and I started on Ultima together (we're friends in Real life). So.. I'm still not completely used to this server. I have looked in some sections of the forum but have not found the information I am looking for. This thread seems to be the most appropriate to ask: For how much was the cap of max stats moved up? I have heard things going from 100 each stat/10ata and things like 30 to dfp. Unfortunatly, I am not far enough ingame to just try it out. I only have reached the cap for ata with a ramarl, and the 10 is correct. What about the other stats?

So this post turned out quite subjective and maybe rough in one or two spots. Love me or hate me. Both is in your rights. What it is that I perceive by playing PSO? A short journey back into childhood. Back to the time when there was homework only (and that was done in a wink of time, or not at all). Back to that day when my dad forbade me to play videogames for the rest of the day, and I went to bed several hours earlier, just to get up at 4 in the morning and play PSO. Boy, I'll never forget that moment when he came into my room in the morning. He was _proud_ of me. He was proud that his lessons about logic and all that stuff that fathers teach their sons had had some effect. He didn't say this at all. But I know he was proud. Playing PSO is meditating. It's diving into the past future (back then, photons and stuff made so much more sense. If you know what I mean) And, always on this server, *looks to schthack* there's a great community with cool guys, stupid (not too stupid, though) jokes, and this great atmosphere, which is created by people who, somewhere, think a bit like me. And yes, there is some sort of plateu which I try to reach. A plateu from which everything else will become much more - in search of a better word - easier. A plateu, which makes you a super-hunter. But I never have and never will run around in the lobbies and cry out for help, and beg for stuff and say things like "if i had some better weapons, than i'd deal sooooo much more dmg." And then, after somebody nice actually gives you stuff, you go like "ooooh! *flood of digital tears and some inside laughter* Do you have a high pow mag? i'm too weak for those weps!" Every time I see such things happen I wanna throw their controllers at their heads. Or vomit. Or, sometimes, both. Besides, being pulled up like that takes the fun away. The fun of running at seaside, remembering how one got his first lockgun (it was better than my buddies sniper!) and listening to this beautifully arranged soundtrack. AND it doesn't give you anything for later on. Still not much meseta, probably not many pd's and, especially, no feeling for the monsters, the latency of the server and the game mechanics. So I think it is very stupid and childish to beg around. But then again, it really may be the way of generations yet to come. They did few to get way too much. They've grown accustomed to getting handed everything into their laps. (and then being patted, too, probably) I remember how hard it was to convince our parents to concede us some videogaming. And I damn well remember the smiles on our faces when we finally played. Maybe this is the point where the younger ones do actually perceive something totally different, and that might be why they get offended when we tell them a "no" (or something more dircetly ) My five cents are: If we are to accept those kids with their standards, then they'll have to accept us as well. ( I reckon there were some discussions about individuality and stuff..)

Heya! I'm Raefar (aka mini-under9000), 25 years old and studying physics, currently on recess. I started with PSO more than 10 years ago, when a buddy invited me to show some interesting game - and it was a moment of clarity. I still can see his RAmarl running away from those green sharks in Cave 2. So, yeah. We never were able to play online back then, and we lived in our small universe consisting of 3 players and memory cards. A few years ago I found out about Schthack (remove name if (involuntary) advertising is not allowed in this section). That was another moment of clarity. Sitting in my chair and.. er.. A week ago we all came back to Schthack and found our charakters alive. But most of the inventory gone. Kind of depressed our third man started an aimless search on the web and found Ultima with all its benefits. I am impressed. This community may be not overly big but it is awesome. I talked to one guy for a couple of minutes and he just says "cmon, we'll get you some levels" and pulls me from level 37 to almost 60 in one go. While he does so he gives me a fully grinded Spread Needle with decent stats and some other guns (You know, after owning a From the Depths, 4 S-Needles, a high hit HP, about 20 mags and much more and THEN having to start again from scratch, that Spread Needle was a PSO-orgasm straight away). A day later that guy gets some friends, who are just as nice as him, and they pull me from 80 to 130. (And he got for me more Heavenly Abilities than I could equip) I haven't felt so good in a community before. I like Ultima. Raefar By the way: I was putting that spread needle into the common bank for another char. And while i was doing so the game decided to lose the connection to the server. The Effect is, that i've lost the needle. It is simpy gone. Do you think I have any chance for an admin to restore that item? Or should I just forget it?
