  4. Very interesting. Your ADEPT+Cent/Ability plan gives about the same DFP (you gotta see this @ink)(154 away from max) compared to 2xCent/Ability plan (which is 147 from max), with the advantages of better resistances+reduced TP consumption. I will replace it sooner or later, as soons as I have "free time" =P Cent/Ability+ADEPT Pros - Resistance/All +6 - Slight TP reduction Cons - MST won't be maxed if using Merges (negligible as you mentioned, because custom shields already covers most of the important Tech-boosts) - Needs a custom made mag (which isn't that bad considering you can currently rellocate mag status points using New Year Cards) That plan is also really cool. I'll add it ASAP either.. Being honest, I never really liked Newman plans, it is so frustrating not being able to max all of the important stats together, without a lot of sacrifices (on this case, sacrifices are important units that matter a lot for decent gameplay). Not to say switching mags/units together is totally a not "noob-friendly" thing to do. But that scenario unfortunately won't change unless Ultima decides to give Newmans at least more 100 extra material usage =P Even though your plan is an intesting approach, IMO it isn't really an improvement compared to the current Cent/Mind plan. The pros I see here are being able to use a non customized mag, having better overall resistances, reduced TP comsumption and always having max ATA, but having to use 2 Adepts for melee purposes is a huge drawback to gameplay, because you would: - Cast considerably slower techniques while meleeing (because you can't equip V801 with C/Battle and Smartlink Together) -> that would be the least harmful scenario; - Do really slow melee attacks -> If not using C/Battle, then why bother... would be better to use a more melee-friendly class; - Miss a considerable ammount of melee attacks -> If not using Smartlink but using C/Battle+V801/V502. But Forces are fragile like dandelions so they have to use ranged attacks mostly. Also IMO it is a waste to spend material/points maxing ATP (and even worse, LCK) on newman forces because they will never be able to compete with Hunters/Rangers dps. Demon special usage only really depends on ATA, and a little bit of ATP helps finishing off. Even though Adept is overall a better unit on almost every situation, because it gives lots of points to every stats, Centurion/Mind gives the freedom to allocate points only to the stats that really matters, while Adept doesn't. Anyways I'll consider your plan as an alternative, but IMO I suggest you reworking a little bit the ATP/LCK and reallocate such points to MST; after all that's why you use a Force mostly, for magics right? Melee is mostly a support thing Interesting. I never thought about this, will see if I can add this little bit of information. Anyways, it is good to remind players they have the freedom to tweak the plans as they want. Now this plan, I really liked it, even though I still think C/Mind is superior overall, this plan shows its purpose clearly. Melee uses specific melee gear only, nuke uses specific nuke gear only. I should remember to rework a few of the plans that considers extra MST for Merges now that you reminded me they are outclassed lol You can consider Hylian Shield instead. He only used Red Ring as a placeholder for MST. Considering extra MST for Merges is only important if the playe is going to use a lot of Gifoie. Topic is maxed stats, but using standards (as seen on first page before the plans itself), not just a "throw 3xCent/Ability+V101 and u be good bro". All of the plans posted have a lot of reasoning behind them, they are suited for specific uses, and so on. Centurion/Battle is considerably faster than V101. 110% Battle speed vs 45%. It's not about attacking a couple miliseconds faster, it's about being able to stunlock more enemies and doing a greater DPS (damage per second). which matters a lot in TA (killing spawns a couple miliseconds faster makes you the winnner) or complex quests like Tower of Dreams, for example. Also, @ink, V101 is not considered a endgame unit here so I don't add V101 oriented plans because increased battle speed is undeniably way better than a little bit of extra stats. Everyone that plays here, sooner or later is going to get a C/battle and keep it as their main battle unit. Also ewwww, katanas are so terrible, they are only useful for skipping Seabed floors.... lol BTW I don't have an ETA to add such plans because I don't play this game anymore so this is just extra work/math for me, BUT they will be added definitely.

  6. I myself am planning to upgrade a Lollipop, from 0 to 85% Hit, since I can duplicate enough of NYCs for that purpose. Why, you ask? Because it will taste and smell better to monsters when I slap it in their faces. Seriously tho, although I don't really play the game anymore, I still visit forums and I'm really impressed to see that 85% Hit is the new normal of endgame for players x)

  12. Super Mario Bros 3 was my childhood game, I still remember and miss playing it with my father. It is my favorite game of all time by far. But when I discovered SNES emulators and played Super Mario World for the first time, I got really interested in making my own levels and started researching until I discovered Lunar Magic, a program made by FuSoYa that edits SMW roms. A few years have passed until discovering SMWCentral, which is a community dedicated to host romhacks, patches, custom musics and graphics and many tools that complements the stuff Lunar Magic can't do alone. I think I was like 11 or 12 years old at that time. Although I don't really mess with this stuff nowadays (now I'm 25 years old), I still really like to see what's being done on the scene (and I still hope for some of the unreleased romhacks I really like to be finished one day). Unfortunately I never finished any project but I contributed a lot to the community with a few patches/graphic packs and so on. BTW, one of my main goals with SMW was to completely recreate the SMB3 engine and mechanics into the SMW. That was because the tools available for SMB3 romhacking was very limited and difficult to work with. The hacking community put all their effort into coding stuff for SMW, so it was kinda easier to go that route to recreate the experience of my favorite childhood game.

  15. Might be possible, but such disconnect issue didn't happen with me on Ephinea, for example. As a team, we are told to drop items we don't need, such as techs, materials, weapons etc. next to the door for other players to pick. So if the problem were the room borders, we would have serious problems with disconnections there. As @R-78 mentioned, on Normal Mode, what happens when you get/drop items between room borders, you get a little freeze, but not a disconnection error. Anyways yeah, we can give it a try again here, now I have a really good internet so I'm sure desync won't be an issue anymore 😋 Did you know that on Ephinea, on normal mode, if you are to pick/drop a desynced item, a pop-up message appears asking you to reload ship/block to sync yourself again with the server instead of imediately disconnecting you from the server? Pallasch was just an example, didn't mean it literally. My point was just that there were one or two times I'm sure we got weapons which attributes didn't correspond to the area it was meant for, looks like a rare bug apparently. When that bug happened where I didn't get rewards for cmode, my title didn't change either. Since then, I always tried to leave 1C9 for last to prevent it from happening again. Still IMO it is strange getting other titles than "Bu-Ei" after you already completed cmode, makes it look like you didn't really finished it. Most of the useful S-rank weapons already have custom weapons versions exclusive to Ultima that either have unreduced specials and you can increase Hit% up to 80. So yeah, they were made obsolete and only worth hunting if you don't have access to seasonal event items. While you can still do SNS glitch on S-ranks, there's just no way they are better than customized weapons. A blank stats Boomerang/Kiss of Death is already better than S-Rank Slicer/J-Cutter, and you don't even need to spend PDs to add a special to them. @Soly: The disconnection issues happened with items dropped by monsters/boxes, then discarded from inventories later (example: picking a mind material/cane weapon from a box just to later give them to a force player) Afaik, monster stats are vanilla on cmode, the issue I was refering to was about the RNG table. (Also, first time I heard section IDs matters somehow for cmode. I never found any evidence proving that.)
  16. While we are here talking about Naka's Cards, last time I checked, Challenge Mode on Ultima was semi-broken, glitchy and unbalanced. How do I know that? I did plenty of cmode on other servers and in fact there are still things here that definitely needs to be improved. Here is a list of the problems I encountered so far: Dropping items from your inventory or getting items dropped from other players can potentially crash/disconnect you. Weapons and techniques are definitely not balanced, and it touches borderline impossible especially on stages 5, 6 (Mines Area) and 9 (Ruins and Final Boss) of EP1. The majority of times, you don't get enough weapons with Hit % in order to complete the stage without a lot of sacrifices (Hit is a very important attribute due high EVP from Mines/Ruins mobs) Another stage that was pretty unbalanced was Stage 3 from EP2 (aka 2C3). I remember when me, @Fyrewolf5 and a few other people once grinded this stage for good RNG in order to get good weapons to fight Gal Gryphon. Same problems from the list above. And the same problem also happens on 2C4 (Seabed), where if you don't get Hit% on weapons, you will have a bad time with Deldepths (very high EVP, and they hurt a lot if you don't deal with them fast enough) and Delbiters. (And yeah, I played enough of challenge mode on other places to be 100% sure such issues only happens here). There were a few instances where the attribute from a dropped weapon didn't correspond to the attribute of the specific area it dropped. Example: A Palasch with 65 Abeast dropping in a Mines area (R.I.P.) On Ultima, you are not required to do the stages in a numerical order. One can simply complete stage 9 first, then stage 3, then stage 4, then stage 1, etc. Which can lead to a few bugs: 1. There is a little chance you won't be able to claim your S-Rank/A-rank/B-rank prizes. Happened to me once and @Soly had to manually gave me the items. 2. Your final title on lobbies will correspond to the last stage you completed from the set of nine stages of Episode 1. So unlike other servers where stage 9 gives your final title "Bu-Ei", you won't get that on Ultima if you don't leave stage 9 for the very end. So if anything is to be changed regarding Naka's Card system, I believe it would be handy to at least fix the issues from Challenge Mode. They might have been fixed already, last time I played cmode here was on past Summer Event, and I came across with most of the issues I mentioned here. So I don't really blame Naka's Cards for "ruining" Challenge Mode, considering it never received that much attention here. Anyways there are not many reasons to do cmode here either, because most of the important weapons you would get from it were made obsolete: Hell Slicer/J-Cutter -> Boomerang/Kiss of Death Hell/Demon Mechgun -> Hell/Demon TypeME-Mechgun/Yasminkov9000M Arrest/Hell/Demon Needle/Shot -> Arrest Needle, Hell TypeSH/Shot, Demon TypeSH/Shot And probably something else and important I forgot to mention. Either you would do cmode because you need Zalure/Jellen s-rank weapons - Gods Shields, or because you want some ̵̶̵u̵̶̵s̵̶̵e̵̶̵l̵̶̵e̵̶̵s̵̶̵s̵̶̵ unique s-rank weapon/name (I once made a PIZZA SLICER lmao) or because you are masochist and like to suffer XD I appreciate all the work from the developers/moderators/admin done here on Ultima, and this post goal isn't to attack anyone/anything Just wanted to share some of the experiences I've had so far playing here and perhaps indicate how a few things can be improved. Thank you!

I remember there is a quest on Episode 4 named "LOGiN presents 勇場のマッチレース" or something similar that will boot the players out of the quest automatically if the requirements are not met (4 players must join or something)? (i.e. you can't solo it). Perhaps you can re-use this piece of code on every quest to automatically check if players are using Individual Drops + multiple log combo and /lobby them if they attempt to start a quest? Anyways I believe that disabling drops for 2nd, 3rd and 4th players with same IP is an easier solution, so you don't have to completely get rid of Individual Drop + multiple log combo.
  18. Isn't it kind of nostalgic when you stop to realize Ultima is already 12 years old!? It is a teenager practically! So many stories to tell, so many friends we met, lots of good moments but of course there were a few bad ones, but in the end what matters is that it is still alive. I've seen many people come and leave PSO for good, but "a good son will never forget their family". Hopefully there will be many and many years to come by :)
